Kilts for £24.99

Not sure if this deal is limited to Scotland but Lidl are selling kilts from 21st for only £24.99. The also have sporrans for £12.99, Jacobite shirts for £12.99 and socks for £3.99.

COmpared to kilt shops this is a brillant price, you would pay more to hire one. Note however these kilts are not wool, and the quality won't be as good. However if you are looking for one to wear to the football or rugby, its just the ticket.

Note lidl bargains sell quickly, get yourself down there on monday morning if you want one!

Underwear is wholly optional when wearing a kilt. But only if you can carry it off lads.....

If you were a member of the Buchanan clan (like me) then you wouldn't have a problem wearing another tartan! Check it out: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5f/BuchananTartan.png

these are pretty good value. Great for casual use, but they are not the real deal. A real kilt is 8 yard these are 5 yard kilts. The quality differs greatly but at 25 quid a good price. Voted hot. Just remember the Black watch Tartan is a Traitors tartan.

Looks pretty good tbh. For those that mock kilt wearers, consider the advantages....

It's quicker to lift a kilt than to drop your trousers AND you can run away quicker when her old man makes an unexpected appearance :w00t:

Well Mr B canna wear any of 'em but if it saves his Macqueen tartan one from the football he can bloody well lump it

he was looking for a cheepy one

I really love my St. Andrews University kilt, and hoping that one day Edinburgh University will has its own tartan, so I can make another one.
#16
A Mackenzie kilt :) Might buy one for that price seeing as i've never worn or owned a kilt before :-D
#17
That's not a kilt.

It's a dress for a man. :x

Tell me about it, the attention we go in Dublin at New Year was unbelievable! Planning getting my own but wouldnt touch the stuff from LIDL. Kilts normally start at £300 before you add all the extras so I cant see the quality being up to much!
#20
These are a great price for wearing a few times,as the quality might not be up to the best of standard........Kilts are so sexy,if worn by the right person...i've seen some horrors in kilts and they are still horrors no matter what they're wearing.lol.....hot deal for me.....

My point exactly.

My friends mother makes kilts. Cost at Llidl wouldn't even buy the thread needed.

It's a lightweight dress in tartan.

An arguement I have often had with my boss, usually at the pub after a few pints :-D

My point is that it's accepted national dress, and as such he cannot stop me wearing it if I want to
His point being that I would look like an idiot, so I really shouldn't want to

In the cold, clear (sober) light of day I never have done
EXCEPT for the Christmas Party at Carrow Road

Whilst you're in Lidl don't forget your morris dancing outfit, including jingly bells, hankies and little sticks which they will no doubt be stocking in Lidl stores in England....

I had absolutely no idea that kilts cost so much !! Any particular reason for the high price tags ?
#31
They cost that much because proper weaving techniques are both time- and labour-intensive, and almost every kilt is cut and pleated to order. Normal kilts are made of far heavier - and undoubtedly better quality - cloth than this, and incorporate more than 50% more material than this kilt.

I would say a kilt even for just £300 is actually exceptionally good value - I remember my kilt alone costing £600 about ten years ago - that was without any of the accessories whatsoever.

These will be very poor quality and will hang like a skirt as opposed to a kilt.
#32
Just wondered if anyone had any luck trying to buy these?

Went to 2 Lidls today at 11am and were told the stuff was long gone, seemed strange to me, wondered if it was a bit of a marketing ploy and there weren't many for sale at all
#33
People will often be queuing outside Lidl at 9:00am for the specials. Rarely anything decent left by 11:00.
#34
My local opened at 8 by 8.20 everything was gone.

I was told they're getting a lot more in, in 12 weeks time.

I know this is late, but just to say, these kilts are 8 yard kilts. Not pure wool though, and not full weight.
