The playbook was the other one I was considering.

I have the playbook and if you're not to fussed about apps I'd whole heartidly recommend it over the fire.

Dual camera's
fantastic sound and picture quality (can not emphise how good the playbook is as a media player)
64gb option of a little more money
HDMI out
Build quality is superb.
OS is more intuative than android (this is down to my personal taste though)
And the option to sideload android apps if you really need them.
native flash

I use mine mainly for web browsing and watching youtube iplayer etc and for this it's fantastic.

Started using it at work as the hdmi out option cupled with the very decent dual core processor makes it ideal for getting stuff on the big screen

what with and without special offer mean?

Anyone know if it worth paying extra for no special offers?

And is this better value than the hd at £149?

Thanks for posting op

Special Offers are basically ad supported versions. Instead of having things like authors on your screensaver, you'll have adverts.

Had a look at them both today. Going to get the Fire HD as it's slimmer and feels better quality than just the Fire

I'm guessing that this is the Kindle Fire Black Friday deal and there won't be any of this 2 hour deal stuff tomorrow?

I think Amazon have done this to spark a surge so when the black friday deal comes tomorrow they wont have many left at discount?

Kindle fire HD has double the memory & a camera (& a few other extras) def worth the extra money but I'm hoping it will be on Black Friday offers tomorrow

It's hardly awful! It has had great views and generally the best non Apple tablet. Saying that though iPad and iPad mini have much better apps available
#28
Just get it with and pay £10 to turn them off if they annoy you.

£8.99 for the charger (which is not included with the kindle fire) normally £17.99

If Apple are shifting millions of iPads at that inflated price I can't see this price drop having much effect on that.

Whereas like for like, Nexus seems to be beating Kindle in reviews so this could make a huge difference for those where money is tight.

I am sticking with my BlackBerry 64gb though.

Not sure about this - I thought they have a certain amount available at the lower price? The products are always available after the lightning deal has finished. Maybe it's to soften the blow for those who don't get it.

Hot deal. Is there a very noticeable difference with the hd? I'm tempted to buy either the fire hd or nexus 7 but reckon I will hold off for nexus 7 (3G) whenever that comes out tho.
