This is a cheap option compared to some of the other tv mounts you can get at around £25.
Might help someone.....

Also now available at Amazon for same price , just another option

yeah ... been waiting for something like this, the "official" mount is a real rip off

looks good for the price.
Don't forget 5% off with NUS

Looks to me like it rests on the back of the TV with the weight of the Kinect Sensor doing the work, although those pads could be sticky, who knows...

If not sticky, grab some velcro pads :)

ordered!, great find, thanks.

given u have to pay £129.99 for kinect i would expect this free not have to waste money on something that should have come with it.
#9
errr no you get a stand free ;)
banned#10
Was going to post this myself! Have ordered one and hope it does the job, sensor field of vision is so much better on top of the tv
#11
Tempting...
#12
Hmmm,

Build a mini shelf/platform or buy this gadget for the other gadget. Decisions.

Guess I'll have to see how much time I have on my hands. Probably plenty :p
#13
so how does this fit on top of ur TV ?? seen it a few day ago but could not figure out how to fit to TV
#14
it goes over the bezel
#15

errr no you don't. If you want to put the sensor on top of your tv you have to use a mount which is sold seperately. I know this as I got the xbox and kinect yesterday and am not happy that i now have to spend even more money on one of these. :(
#16
hmm i duno if to order this or not. my partner stuck ours on top of the tv with some sticky pads and bluetack lmao! im scared it will fall off and break :|

but then doesnt this just stick on with sticky pads too and is that included?
#17
Dont bother with this I had one of these..they are quite flimsy, mine snapped off whilst adjusting the sensor..ps mine only cost me £6.99!..utter crap!

well i got a free stand with mine,i just made one with a bit of cardboard and a few pegs, only took me half an hour!..oh well no doubt this will get me a few cynical comments!

Better value than the official ones. Still waiting on someone coming out with one where you can rotate the camera - having it point at 90° from the TV doesn't suit our living room.

Might have to try and cobble something together myself.
#21
To me, it looks like it presses against the top of your tv, along the front and back. Then the wingnut screw is used to tighten up the position once you're happy the Kinect will be secure. So, a pretty secure device, I'd say!

An an aside... You know, I'd understand if the Kinect was flimsy when placed down, but it's not. It has a fairly large base which is covered in rubber and there's some weight to the overall unit which sits atop my tv pretty solidly. I've had 3 people (including myself) jumping around like loons and it's never missed a beat in a game! Maybe the Panasonic Viera 32" TV I have has a stable top side??

This isn't released until Jan 28th, so you didn't have one. You maybe had something similar, but just because your mount was flimsy doesn't mean that this one is.

I used the foam packaging that the kinect came with. It has a rectangle/ square groove along back of foam, that when turned upside down fits perfectly along top of tv bezel. It is very secure, I will take a pic tomorrow and post on here..... ps might not work on slim led tvs, as mine is 2 yr old plasma and top is about 30mm wide

I have the crown tv mount for the ps3 eye camera it does the job but is very flimsy, the kinect camera is very heavy so iam not so sure this given kids will be jumping around in front of it will be upto the job. I have the pdp official mount for kinect & yes £40 aint cheap but its upto the job.

I use my tri-pod, wind it down when not in use, then wind it up when playing, need less room.

Depends on your telly pal. I have a 50" HD LG Plasma TV and the sensor rests on the top of the TV with no issues and has been like that since boxing day.
#35
Looks good to me. Heat added. I'm still awaiting a decent / cheapish wall bracket to come out. I've just stuck mine to the top of my Pioneer 50" plasma with good old blu tack, it does the job for now.
#36
No good for your telly if it has buttons top centre like some Sony TV's.
#37
Ordered, Thanks :)

Really? That's a weird place to have buttons. My Sony TV has them at the side. Yes it's still weirder than at the front but it won't get in the way of Kinects, PS Eyes or Wii Sensor Bars
