My entire Kinect 'adventure' relies on PC integration. I have no interest in the frankly pointless endeavours of the 360 games, but as a piece of technology I am sold.

I had a go on this and its quite good but I can see myself soon getting bored with it. Theres also no feedback like on the Move and Wii if thats important to you.

Huh?

You seriously want to play any of the release titles? They look like hell on earth and a waste of development. The tech is fantastic, but awaiting implementation. The modding community is making incredible progress and I guarantee Microsoft embrace it rather than lock it down.

As a basic example, I don't want to run my fingers across my monitor via touchscreen but I would quite happily wave through a list of albums and gesture control.

I assume that's a sarcastic 'huh'? (_;)
Otherwise I'll happily let you all dance in front of your consoles like morons rather than seeing the bigger picture.

Kinnect is rubbish it does NOT appeal to me, wait until it drops to around £34.99 next year.

Really? Strange because I have one and I (Male 43) my wife (39) and my kids (6 & 8) all love it ...ohh but wait you dont do you, so you know how?? Oh thats right you just know, because it "doesn't appeal to you". The Kinnect is a fantastic piece of technology way more rewarding than the Wii (yes I do have one), it is probably the first real family friendly piece of tech I have purchased that bring the family together in an indoor physical activity (which was useful when the kids got board of the snow).

I love this board when it gives informed advice from knowledge or experience but despair when you get the ""I think" therefore its cold mentality" or the "xbox is crap therefore this is cold" from the PS3 crowd. I will vote hot BECAUSE its a good price and based on my experience a good piece of kit BUT if your going to get one make sure that you can get at least 6 foot between you and the sensor and ideally 8 or 9.

By the way £34.99...really...enjoy your wait for the next few years, I shall spend the time as post 8 states spend the time your waiting dancing in front of my consoles like a moron, because it bloody good fun!

I will use it to hack and control the PC because that too looks like fun to

But its not available from there - it just sys back soon...

ShopTo is being annoying. I've registered previously but it wont let me log in.
Its definately the correct details as if I change them it then tells me to "check my details"
I've tried doing a password reminder but it hasn't sent one.
And noones answering the phone Grrrr!

Created new account easily enough even though they say you should only have one. Hope quidco tracks now...
Cheers to the OP!

Quidco cashback is only for software. I wonder if Microsoft Store will get any back in before their 20% deal finishes.

Guranteed this will never be made officially available for the pc. Its a way of ms shifting 360 boxes and its working they have sold going on 5 million already.

PC gamming is all but dead its very small part of overall gamming sales these day.

It won't be £34.99 as Kinect costs about £35 to make (Yes they are making massive profits)
I would say it's only worth £40 max, but people are stupid enough to pay £120+ for this glorified Eyetoy.

Great price. Got mine release day for £129. Heat added :D

I saw this offer but when I checked out the web on shopto net there is so much griping about your credit card being cloned and used that I went to Amazon instead where it was £127 with free delivery but at least I have piece of mind and thats worth the extra £8 to me...Merry Xmas folks

Where is this griping? I've checked trustpilot, dooyoo, reviewcentre and most of the feedback is very good. Although I admit to doing a quick search I only found one angry customer mentioning card scams which is the last review on reviewcentre and no scam happened to them.

I'm reasonably certain that that issue has been resolved a few months ago. I however have been heavily affected by this about 1.5 - 2 years ago, when I received false charges on 2 of my credit cards.

If you want to be certain that your credit card is safe, you can pay with Paypal instead of credit card. This has never given anyone any problems, to my knowledge.

Don't forget this nonsense is coming from the PS3 fanboy that would happily tell you that a Broken bugged game (Gran Turismo 5) which is only rated around 84 on Metacritic is worth £129 when it has a few bits of junk thrown in with it.(Signiture-Edition)

Great price for Kinect OP.

£40 would also be the absolute maximum before I try Kinnect, unfortunately it will end up like my Wii - A novelty item that is only used to play the Mario games.
#39
Kinect doesn't seem to be very good! Needs a controller to actually 'play' games. I can't imagine playing an FPS on it without it becoming like Time Crisis.

Granted that may be the case but it doesn't deter from the product they're selling at the end of the day. It's a fantastic bit of kit, theres nothing quite like it. The RRP is OTT but then it's new technology (In a sense anyway) and new technology demands a premium.,also the parts cost around £35, that figure doesn't include manufacturing costs/programming etc.

Kinect is a great piece of kit and I love mine, it's a great party gadge and makes nights spent with friends round a ball, I can't tell you how much fun you can have with this ! Despite this it does have it flaws but these can be worked on, even still I would hope to see this @ the £50-75 next year.

Great price though OP !
