Went into Gamestation Perry Barr yesterday and got them to price match the Asda £79 deal which they did. I had a Gamestation points card which they gaveme £12 worth points as well. Not sure how long the points promotion is on for. Works out to about £67.

Note - You must be instore at the time when the sales assistant phones Asda to check stock availability.

Cracking deal. Got Kinect Sports from HMV online with the 20% off code for £27

Amazing!

Did they allow you to redeem the £12 worth of points against the price of the Kinect? If not, then the current title of "£79 + £12 worth of points" is correct, not £67 since an additional purchase is required to redeem the £12.

No. I got the £12 on my points card after paying for the Kinect but to be honest its still £12 off another purchase. So in theory, Im still saving £12 somewhere along the line.

Would this be their TRIPLE XP scheme? 79 x 10 (10 points per £1) x 3 = 2370 points, and i'm sure (like GAME) it's £5 per 1000 points, so this probably equates to £12.XX (well 2500 would be £12.50 right?). Mystery solved, lol (_;)

Still, it's good to have the points on your card though. I wonder if GAME do the same price match?

this is only a price match and depends on asda having stock

OP got lucky. 99% of stores won't price match supermarkets so no way will this be nationwide.

well gamestation in Aberdeen matched the john lewis deal of £28.40 for the playstation move starter pack (without bothering to phone them!) AND said they would have honored Asda's kinect deal though I was a couple of days too early. (ended up getting it in Asda anyhoo!)

So kudos to our gamestation... and it was the new boss I spoke to, who used to work at Game.

Sorry guys, only said this as it's £12 for a purchase in gamestation, not cash in hand to spend anywhere.

That's fine and true, and I would also definitely use that £12 at some point, but the fact remains that if you walked in the shop with £67 cash you couldn't buy this.

Oh yes I could, I simply ask one of the customers to lend me £12 cash and their points card for 5 minutes, there's always some kind person ready to help. I tell them that I will give them their money back in the form of bonus points on their card, which they can use to pay for their shopping, after all, that's what they're in the shop for.

Right... yes. Moving on from that, it's probably also worth pointing out you can't spend £12 worth of points, you can only spend points in GAME in increments of £2.50.

If you came up to me, I would just say no! Lend you £12? Has to be one helpful trusting soul!

All my gamestations pricematch supermarkets. Their Ts and Cs say local shops - a supermarket is a shop. Trading standards would be interested in your store...
