Formerly known as Project Natel, Xbox Kinect is new Xbox technology that will change the face of videogames forever. Xbox 360 Kinect will turn YOU into the controller for games and entertainment, and it will work with every Xbox 360. Unlike 2-D cameras and controllers, Kinect tracks your full body movement in 3-D, while responding to commands, directions, even a difference of emotion in your voice.

I bought a Philips HDTV 4 years ago cost me £600, now selling for £200. Could have saved myself £400 if I would have waited (_;)

Dance Central is my favourite Kinect game by far, it's really fun.

HOT this device shows the wii up to be exactly what it is - a gamecube with a barely functioning controller device and new front end OS tacked on it. and I wont believe anyone defending the wii that they think the controls actually worked as sold to us by nintendo only for them or get more costly for them to behave as initally promised (motion +).

Alot of fun to be had with this - very family friendly, requires alot of room though.

Fair point, but I think you're forgetting that the Wii was years ahead of this effort, by a company which turns over conciderably more. The wii has it's place and brought a revolution to gaming, doesn't mean it will always be the best on the market, but for the last few years it certain has been. Kinect is great and a lot better than the wii, but has taken a few years to catch up.

It will get much cheaper yet... once they have a really good range of games out, they will be giving this away on the back of you buying loads of games.

4 months time and this will be £25-35. But HOT as prices stand today.

Fancy eyetoy needs some decent games and a lower price to entice me im afraid. Hot for the price though.

Does this include the power adaptor for non 'slim' consoles?!? Think its on the right path now. In my experience GAME reductions are a forwarning for things to come, e.g. they gave ridiculous prices on their Elites just before the slim was announced, wonder if the RRP of this is going to drop to what it should be (around £50)?!?!? Either way, I can wait, regardless of what anyone says, this WILL drop to £50, in the UNLIKELY scenario that it doesn't and given that there are no killer titles I can risk it :D
#21
About time it came down to a more realistic price. Xbox fanboys must be gutted, hee, hee!
#22
Great price - ordered. Heat added.

Many thanks OP.

Why would a fanboy be gutted?!?! Surely the price drop is a good thing. If you want gutted, that would be a PS3 fanboy after seeing the long anticipated and over hyped pile of crap that GT5 ended up being :D

Bought one on the day of release and sold it on after Xmas as just wasn't using it. You need an awful lot of space for it to work properly and at the end of the day the games aren't that much better or different to those on the Wii (despite comments to the contrary). The technology is hugely impressive and there is great potential - just not in video games. The lack of controller in some ways will be restrictive as it limits your control options. And yes I know there are hybrid games coming out but I really don't want to be actually hiding behind something and physically popping out to shoot something as Gears of War Kinnect is going to get you to do. Maybe I just don't see it but depite being a huge jump forward technology wise I don't think it will be a huge leap in terms of the games we see. Hot price mind so heat given.

You do realise that the Wii was released back in 2006 and this is only a few months old. If the Kinect wasn't better than the Wii's motion controls then M$ would have some serious problems.

Kinect has been steadily dropping price everywhere ATM. Though, it's still not worth £75 to me.
#28
Very hot price. Almost tempting me to part with my cash but gonna hold out a bit longer to see if it hits sub £60 mark.
#29
So tempted to get this but might give it another year when there's bound to be some decent games out.

On that subject, what happened to that kid that the woman interacted with on the demo videos, when it was known as Project Natal? Is that a concept that never came to light, or is it in development? Or has it been released and I've just missed it? :)

It says "Redemption Rules Not Satisfied" when trying to use the code when I try it.

I remember that, it was called Project Milo, developed by Peter Molyolyolyolyneux's team (Lionhead Studios of Fable) But turned out it was just a tech demo. Not gonna be released as a game unfortunatly.
#35
Code doesn't work, would have ordered at £75 but might wait now.
#36
I'd wait 3-5 months before buying. a) it will be £69 or so by then, and b) most games out at the moment are crap. Unless you just want to lose weight or do dance stuff. Majority are poorly implemented and inaccurate, or have a short attention span.

I think that the opportunity for grown men to be sat on their own in their bedrooms telling a small boy to "do things" was a bit too risky X)
