After searching for an alternative razor, because of Gillette's extortionate prices, "The best a man can get" but also the most expensive a man can get! I tried Wilkinson sword (which tore my face apart) and a few others.. I then stumbled across this in the 99p store and it is excellent, the quality of shave is as good as gillette and replacment blades are roughly 4 for £3 compared to Gillettes £9.49 for 4 blades!! Im sticking with this..

Worst shave i ever had was with one of these.
Nearly lost half my face, the blades are too far apart imo.

Good price for a razor however to me it is a poor product.

Quite liked it for a cartridge razor. You have to hold the handle at a much shallower angle to the face than with a Gillette / Wilkinson Sword.
#3
Worst razor/blades ever! avoid at all costs.
#4
I quite liked them apart from the fact that the first shave with a new one, I would always take a big chunk out of my chin. And it's difficult to do the all important under nostril hairs.

Once they lost the inital sharpness, they lasted a while.

The best razor I have ever used in my opinion, always use with the Azur gel which is very good also. I find this better than the Mach which blunts very quickly.
#6
Better than Gillette :)

Awful awful shave. Don't go anywhere near these razors

It seems a lot of people's hatred of this product is most likely down to not shaving properly with it.

It cuts ridiculously close and for the price can't be beaten

I also prefer this to the equivalent rip-off Gillette

Was in Asda the other day and they aren't selling them anymore, might be just me

Cheapest Mach3 blades - 8pack £10.75. 12pack - £15.26 both from Amazon.

I found the Titanium quattro Wikinson sword a good alternative -8pack -£9.58 amazon.

same here worst one out the blade is way too far from the end to allow to get close to your nose very annoying.

There are limited numbers of Azor 1 ups available in 99p/pound stores due to an overbuy by a major. latest Azor 5 at Boots, Tesco, Asda. Cartridges 1/3 price of Gillette's latest. Azor also gets a best buy and outstanding value from Which? Many love, some don't. Can't please all - but price/value is awesome.

This is my regular razor, the blades last far far longer than Gillette or WS. But you do have to change your technique. Counter-intuitively you have to press harder on your face to avoid nicks and get a good close shave. The only criticism I have is getting close to your nose because of the large plastic frame to the blades. I cut myself far less with this razor than with any other but I do use the KoS gel to shave with (which in itself is the best shaving product you can buy) the razor complements this perfectly.

A 3 pack of Mach3 disposables is £5.95 at Tesco, but they often have a 2 for the price of 1 offer. You can pull the head off the disposable handle and fit it onto a normal Mach 3 handle.

Recommend a DE safety razor.
Bought an Edwin Jagger from Amazon for £15.72 from Amazon with a 5 pack of Derby blades - superb! Will never go back to a cartridge razor again!
Simply the best shave and no nicks or cuts! And the cheapest most environmentally friendly shave.

seems to be the biggest problem with these razors as I have the same problem, cant shave close under my nose, so I have a spare Gillette one to finish it off ! To be honest I prefer a mach 3 or similiar but the price of the blades put me off !
heat added though as the price is cheap !

I like the look of it do you use the brush to put soap on or just foam or gel? and is it easy to get used too? what cartridge shaver you use before i use Gillette infusion does it last as long as these as mine lasts about 3 weeks?
thanks!

Same here.

Feather blades are far better than Derbys by the way. I have been shaving this way for 18 months and have never looked back, you cannot beat DE shaving with a decent blade, a bowl, some good shaving cream and a good badger hair brush.

I get all my supplies from http://www.traditionalshaving.co.uk

I use the lady version of this and it's the worst razor I ever used, my legs still feel prickly after using it even though I use it daily. I'm going back to using my venus razor.
#22
I have to echo that these are awful! Had to replace the blade every 2-3 shaves and never as close as a shave with a Gillette razor.

i hated the quattro, but mach 3 blades are the same on the mach3 (none powered) which are in asda regular for £2-£3 for 3,just swap them to mach3 power.
not as cheap as ones posted but cheapest i've found for mach3 blades.

No matter how much we complain that gillette are rip off's (which they are) they are still the best shaves.

I agree until i try the Edwin Jagger with feather blades but a slow shave with the this type i rush to work and shave in a couple of mins just wondering if its worth getting up early and using this?

So many mixed reviews about this, ya either hate it or love it, all depends on those pretty little faces! :P
#27
Worst razor I've ever used, constantly cut my face, stay away!
#28
best manual shaver I've ever used, hot!
#29
Voted hot - great razor, and at this price you just can't go wrong!

Talk about mixed reviews... I bought 5 of them last time ASDA had them for a quid. When I only have very small stubble I use my electric shaver, but for anything longer than about 2-3mm i'll use these - i'm only on my 2nd one and it does seem to last for ages... I couldn't say for sure but I reckon i'm on my 10th shave with the 2nd razer and it doesnt feel blunt. It doesnt pull or tug at hairs at all - just slices them right off. I'm a fast shaver too - 3-5min and i'm done - never had anything more than a small nick on the chin.

IMHO a great razer for the money.

3-5 mins oO I'm quite attached to my nose & chin, I like to spend a bit, infact a lot longer shaving !

Must admit I've tried everything over the years and come to the conclusion Gillette is the best .
There are not many slogans that are true but "Gillette the best a man can get" is one of them .
#33
Horrible razor. I too tried to avoid paying the crazy gillette prices but regretted buying this and ended up throwing it away.

I managed to get myself a Wilkinsons sword with 6 blades for £3.79 when a pricing error was posted on here a month or so ago :)

Good price for this though, so i'll post hot. Might just be personal preference on my part so maybe someone will get use from this.
#34
Had to check it wasn't me who posted this in some kind of weird dream - so close to what I would have written...

came across this razor after cursing at the shelves in Sainsburys (the price of Gillette blades is ridiculous blah blah). I too had tried Wilkinson Sword razor's and ending up looking like I had been in some kind of knife fight...

I paid £1.99 for the razor with 2 blades and then bought a pack of 4 blades for £2.99 so less then a fiver for the razor and 6 blades.

Must admit I am quite impressed. The only criticism being the lack of flexibility but for the savings it's well worth a try.

Heat added...:D
