haha yeah the description sometimes makes me laugh at chinese sites, but they are really good and call you dear and stuff, if you meant that as sarcasm, just have a google search for the drive, nothing but praise with some saying its better than a sandisk drive and build quality is really good with metal top and plastic bottom i think

I guess buying from china and a no name label puts of the community at hukd, thats fine, i'll keep deals like these from china to myself in the future.

At this price you gotta try it. 240gb at the price of 120. Great!

They're pretty cheeky stating gift on the shipping notes, should be import tax on these.
I wonder who manufactures the chips and controllers for them.

In aliexpress you can leave a message when placing your order.
You can ask them to not show as gift. and put the correct amount on shipping bag.
If it gets past customs still which it does more times than not - since the shear volume of stuff getting imported - you can ring customs and pay the vat your due.

Then everyones a winner

It's very reassuring that this drive is compatible with Windows Vista.

is it worth to get an ssd? I'm still debating and wondering if where going to see big price drops real soon. voume production for 3d nand has started for almost all manufactures, samsung already into 4th gen. I got a feeling the capacities will double for the same price soon hmm

Once you go SSD there's no going back, it makes such a drastic improvement to any computer.
I am hoping capacity and prices start to make a move soon, market seems to have gone stagnant. 240gb is the minimum I would recommend.

You're still waiting and debating?!!?!? they prices have dropped and dropped and you could have enjoyed massive performance gains for several years without breaking the bank.

I've not looked back since 2012 when migrating to a Samsung 830 drive, cost about £90 for a 120GB and I'm still glad I paid that for it for the sanity of not waiting for Windows to whirr an chug as it does with spinning disks.

JUST BUY ONE NOW PLEASE - it should be a criminal offence to NOT have one in your main computer.

I already have 4 SSD (2 in each computer) due to hotukdeals, else I might get one of these.

I'm almost pulling the trigger on the KingDian, please explain why you would choose Kingston over the Kingdian,
the 779 poeple that gave 4.9/5 cant be all fake reviews. plus all the reviewers on youtube. and all the reviews on amazon. on the whole this looks less like a risk than your making out to be

Do you not think your being cautious and prejudice against "made in china"?

For me it's an unknown brand from a supplier I'd never use (along with gearbest etc) - for any PC I have I want the highest likelihood of reliability do go for Samsung, Micron and so forth. that's just my opinion of course.

You was arguing against Kingston not Samsung or the big players, of course theres no competition against them but those drives cost more than twice as much. Fair enough that you have an opinion but the facts are speaking for themselves, KingDian is cheaper than kingston and better performing right now. kingston SV300 has got a bad name but your grouping KingDian out of blind faith with a bad company but on what grounds?
I'm just confused at the lack of logic in your undrstanding when you say you would get kingston SV300 over anything KingDian would make
#27
OK, while Kingston ssd's have a bad rep for their bait n switch tactic, I'd still prefer a Kingston. with its known lower performance traits than this kingdom which I know nothing about.

You might well say there's no logic to that decision but that's my decision and won't want to influence your decision making. If you're happy with the information you've gathered about this drive and you're happy with the supplier then you've made a decision that works for you.

Public forums such as this are great for info but you've always got to pick the meat from the bones..... we've all got our own (and often skewed) logic so ease don't rely on that alone.

This was from a couple of months ago but eBuyer (and others) prices are always on the move up and down. Bide your time and/or hunt about, deals to be had.

This must be the ex-vat price, i.e £44.99 inc Vat, I've never seen the Sandisk 240GB offered below £39.99 inc VAT/Delivery. I keep a close eye on these things.

Juux has to posted same type of message on several SSD threads, mentioning this price and ebuyer. As said, never seen it at this price on ebuyer.
What is interesting is how Brexit should be adding only 10% to prices, but the likes of the Integral 120GB from mymemory has gone up from £23.49 (with discount applied) to £35.99, since Brexit. (Just one example).

Really the Sandisk should still be available from time to time at £44, i.e. Amazon but its just not happening.
#33
have a look at speeds from that sandisk and the KingDian, on the whole KingDian I think was faster...

Just to clear things up, I'm no eBuyer shill; but yes this was ex VAT, my bad (screenshot from the order ack email).

I do see that prices have perhaps not been as low since so maybe this KindDian is worth a punt to some. I'd probably pay the extra few quid for the security of a UK seller though, just in case.

I just spent about £220 on a tablet from china, the keyboard came and it looks like its been used, slight scuff but otherwise the keyboard looks fine, I'm waiting for the tablet itself and would be hurt if that came used.
The thing is that I've read the reviews on the tablet and have heard alot of negative things about the build, but you also have many people that have had no problems, so I thought its worth a punt.

The difference with this drive is that almost 99% of people saying good things about it. thats why I dont think its a punt really, you will get what the manufacture says imo. but yeah if you dont like to take the risk then leave it.

I'm guessing fulfilled by amazon means, kingdian sends the ssd's to store in amazon factory, amazon ships ssd on order, Kingdian only gets paid for any orders received.

If so, then theres two things that go across my mind.
Amazon trusts the company.
Amazon trusts the product.

I've already ordered two, not received them yet. But given the choice again I would order from aliexpress, since with quidco It ended up me paying £37 ish .

Here is a mini review
Order time & date: 06:11 Sep. 04 2016
Received yday (16/09/206)

12 DAYS FROM CHINA.

For those not familiar shopping from China, the package was sent via ePacket, this is like first class service from China. Package was tracked (all stuff from Aliexpress is tracked) and you'll get a text message from royal mail on the day they going to deliver it and another once its delivered. Really amazing service.

It arrived in a jiffy bag, the ssds are in a simple packaging.
You get a free pen, its quiet nice, I was dissapointed since I ordered two drives I was expecting two pens, oh well.

The drives are really nice, they are 7mm thin. The only other 2.5 inch drive that I've handled was a 9mm hdd (2.5 inch) and gosh I was wondering if its an empty shell. These thing weigh so small, I honestly thought its a toy.

I've just installed it on my machine and understand that my machine is a piece of sh**, my dad got it its an
amd e1-2100 1ghz.
I've heard that the speed of the machine has an effect on the drive speed?
anyway Everything went smoothly.
Here is the crystal disk mark
http://i.imgur.com/yx9nnKA.png
holy sh**, moving tabs in chrome is instant.
Remember my laptop is slow so I'm sure the speeds are not the best you would get on your laptop. They will be better and what I am seeing everyone else posting.

But seriously I cant believe I waited this long to take the plunge.

Okay a few notes. Every company has mistakes and the stats for kingdian are as follow
http://i.imgur.com/oX6LhF5.png

they are amazing! If your willing to wait an extra 9 days, order from aliexpress and you get 7.5% cashback from quidco (not guarenteed) but I think its worth it. I will be buying more for friends and family.

I hope it helps a few people
