This is still their best album, anyone who has become a fan in the last couple of years needs to hear this.

My old man bought it back from an independent record store in San Fransisco before it was released in the UK, loved it from the very first play.

Good price - but am I the only person in the northern hemisphere who doesnt get the whole thing with Kings of Leon?

*puts head on guillotine* everything I have heard from them is kind of standard indie/Killers style rock, almost like the modern muzak lift music...I havent heard any single piece of music that is outstanding or even better than average by them. The singer has a fairly unique voice, and thats about it! *leaves head under blade for fanboys to stamp on*

who would you recommend?
#11
Modern? Not that many actually - they all blend into one another.

The Klaxons are probably my personal favourite band of this kind of light rock at the moment....

I'm not neccessarly saying there is anything wrong with Kings of Leon, but usually when there is so much hype around a band, like them or not you can usually at least see the unique selling point - but I just dont see it with these.

california waiting has got to be their best track to date. great price, great album, great band. just a shame it was their real MoR album which got them their well overdue recognition.

Aha Shake's definitely the best album. This is third, after BOTT. Imo!

well these guys are my favourite band ever, will of seen them 4 times in 18 months come june!
got into them into their Aha Shake Heartbreak days

and this to me is probably my 2nd favourite album by them! it comes a close second behind Because of The Times, and it just edges Aha Shake Heartbreak,

the album is so raw (as i like to say). it's got a good retro vibe. tracks like wasted time and red morning light are immense! then there's 'trani' amazing song, starts off slow, then gets into a right jam out session!

anyone who gets this, remember the last track 'holy roller novocaine' is 12 minutes long, due to a bonus song called 'talahina sky', roughly 3 minutes after 'holy roller novocaine' finishes!

to me, I don't want all the 'Sex On Fire' only fans to get this, it's one of those albums that are more suited to true fans! haha

so for me
1. Because of The Times (each song is awesome - Knocked Up? Charmer? On Call? Black Thumbnail? Fans? Arizona?)
2. Youth and Young Manhood
3. A-Ha Shake Heartbreak
4. _Only_By_The_Night_

Im an Indie snob, hate the killers with a passion. K.O.L are immense, and this their best album. I wouldnt but the klaxons in the same class as these guys let alone the same genre. BUT thats my opinion, and who am i? worth £2.99 easily. VERY HOT

Kings of Leon are absolutely brilliant. If you've only started listening since the last 2 albums you really need to pick up the first 2. Only by the Night is excellent but not a patch on the first 3.

There is something about the first 2 albums that put a smile on my face every time I listen to them.

this is by far the best kol album in my opinion - maybe not as harmonic as the later ones but this album has a lot of attitude. anyone who doesn't have it BUY IT.
