Just phoned my local store and spoke to bakery department....because they went down to 2p this morning they were told they weren't allowed to sell them....and had to throw them all in the bin! Even staff weren't allowed to buy them at this price....they had hundreds apparently. What a waste :((

My store is out of these. If anyone could pick me up a couple? I will pay you for time, petrol and postage on top of item price of course?

You should ring the store again and see if they would be allowed to give them to charity. I agree what a waste.

Wonder if terryasda will drop in with his excellent customer service skills to tell us not to hassle staff.

Hmmmm, still 50p each at my local Asda in Newport. I'd grab a few at the 2p price point. Maybe they'll lower the price tonight.

I know nobody will believe me but I'll say it anyway because it is true...

They were giving these away at the front of Asda Newton Abbot this morning at 9.30. Two per person. I got two. No receipt because they didn't need to go through the tills.

You may now all call me a liar... while I have a coffee from a mug on my new tray!

(BTW, they only had the 'loaf of hope and glory' ones)

Absolutely ridiculous. Does Asda get more than 2p for chucking things out? It's not as if plastic goes off!

Not gonna even bother with my local Asdas - have never found any of the bargains in any of the local ones.
