Yeah... OOS @ Play.com

Amazon have Datawrite 2GB SD card for £9 (exc delivery). Worth considering if ordering more than £15.

I think the Kingston would be a far better make than datawrite.
#10
Is SanDisk better than Kingston? I remember the SanDisk 2Gb being about £14.

Are these cards what you would use for a Canon IXUS 50 camera?
#11
sandisk are good cards.

Tempted to get on for my Wii.

I was after an SD card as I have just ordered a new Canon Powershot A640 (no idea where I got the link for that lol). Have done a lot of research and the best buy seemed to be a 2gig datawrite card. there is the new one that works a a 2 in one usb. was just about to buy when one of the retailer websites actually specified that they won't work in Canon Products and weren't suitable. No explanation as to why, but might be useful info. Cheers

I'm not sure which one datawrite or datasafe is thicker than normal and sometimes is a struggle to get in seen a few posts complaining about them.
#15
aha! that's not to clever then. wouldn't want to get it stuck in the slot (ooer) ;o)

does anyone know what the transfer rates are on this Kingston are? There are no details on the link website. Cheers

I have a datawrite SD card and it's a piece of sh**e. Seriously, <1mb/s write speed compared to at least 2 for the Kingston just doesn't deserve comparison.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the datawrite card is definately thicker, barely small enough to fiut in my Cowon D2, thank god I got it for free!

I know this has been said before, but if you are buying the SD card for a camera then it's probably worth paying a few extra quid for the Kingston Elite Pro version. The speed differences are significant, and noticeable when shooting photos. Although, you need to check compatability with your camera - i.e. what write speeds will it support, etc.

Speed - 1GB: 50x: 8.2MB/sec read rate - 7.7MB/sec write rate

See the speeds for the 'regular' Kingston card on the earlier post. If I find a really good price for these I'll post it.

Or even faster, the Sandisk 1GB ULTRA II Secure Digital Memory cards have a minimum sustained write speed of 9MB per second and a read speed of 10MB per second.

Don't mean to confuse - might be helpful?

because of the delivery on dvd.co.uk, i went for a Maxell 2GB sd card for 9.99 delivered (ie, free delivery). This seems like a good price as the comments were good and Maxell is a very old company. Also got 2% quidco (better than nothing!)
