might not work in the LGA 2011 chipset coming in Q4 which support quad channel memory as it will likely have a recommended max safe voltage of 1.5v that sandy bridge has. People should be looking for 1.5v ddr3 now which will futureproof themselves if they want to upgrade over the next few years.

I guess you are right, but this is more like super tight budget option. It might be easier to sell complete pc than parts separately(who knows). So with new board comes new CPU, RAMs,VGA......

quick question guys:

will i notice a difference between 4gb of ddr3 1333mhz and this 6gb 1600mhz?

just normal computer use, hd video playback, alot of unraring etc

Not really unless your board support triple channel. 4GB is decent amount of ram.
If you have motherboard with triple channel and want to spend some money this is really good price.

I paid about £100 more for 6Gb of Crucial Ballistix Tracer - CL8 about 7 months ago :-|

Edit: just checked and thats still around £80 cheapest, so not quite as bad lol

Coming down in price nicely. It is just a shame that most deals are for triple channel memory. If I had spent so much money on a premium intel CPU, I would go for higher density memory (3*4 GB or so).

Paid £127 for this from ebuyer last June, and that was a good price back then!

Good quality RAM. You'll probably need to up the voltage to 1.65v to get it stable @ 1600mhz though (thought I could get away with lowering the voltage a bit but it crashed out in a game after a few hours). Should get it to run at around 8-9-8 1T at that speed too. It supports XMP so if your motherboard has the ability to choose this option (most of them do now) you'll be able to set it up to run at full speed pretty much automatically.
