strange that there is no cover for the exposed contacts. doesn't look well protected.
#3
covers take up space and if you take up space you're not living on the edge
#4
well, since their name includes the word travel, I presume they are meant for travelling between places not just to be plugged into laptops within reach of each other. for that you need a cover, otherwise you will arrive with corrupt or no data, so that would be pointless or not?
#5
this is no more likely to become corrupt than leaving a pen drive with a cap next to your mobile phone in your pocket.

After looking around it appears that you will get a grey cover no matter which cover you buy ,

"Available in black, pink and blue with a grey bottom casing"

its the same price at dvd.co.uk - you can also pick up a blue or pink 4gb for £5.42 plus p & p

good value for a tiny drive -

half of it is grey, you can tell from the side picture. thanks for the comments. I'm sure dvd.co.uk and blahdvd.com are the same place, their websites are near identical.

I've had one of these for well over 2 years (slightly different design but the same size and same exposed contacts.)

It has always been reliable despite having been through the washing machine at least 3 times!

its so light and tiny its VERY easy to forget it's in a pocket.

i broke my laptop screen leaving a cover on the finger pad. I dont buy sticks with caps anymore. I have a 2Gb version of this, very fast, and cost me a fiver last week. Once again I say, Bu$$er!

I must admit I'm always wary of tese... They look like they'd break if you trumped with one in your pocket!

I actually opted for the full sized datatraveler model purely on the basis it would be harder to lose. In 5 years from now I'm worried when I order a 300Gb flash drive at this price I don't inhale it by accident.

Nevertheless, great price and voted hot.

I have a similar sized thing but it is a micro SD adaptor I got it with a Sandisk MicroSD card. I've had it for about a year and not had any problems with unreoliability. Biggest worry is finding it - definitely needs to be on a keyring or one of those daft lanyards.

I've had an even smaller drive for over a year now

http://www.lowpricememory.co.uk/images/new%20website/pico.jpg

and it's taken all kinds of punishment as it's attached to my keys. Brilliant,as it's made out of metal. A previous tiny drive had a plastic hole like the Kingston and it snapped within weeks so I'm not entirely sure how durable this one is. Good price tho!

...so wot is it??

and i think this might be a better option if you're worried about the contacts being on show (4gb not 8 gb though)...

Mine pictured at the top is a Supertalent Pico C - they do 3 or 4 with different cases but this was the smallest. As as said, because it's got a solid metal case it's virtually indestructible

The Kingston DataTraveller range are superb in terms of quality. The diddy one I have is attached to my wallet and keys and works excellently if you don't forget it. Left the damn thing in too many ports because it's so inconspicuous.

If anyone's seen The Incredible Hulk (2008), I'd rather have ingested this one than a regular one.
