Looks like a good price for a decent brand, pity it's not online.

Agreed - now I'll need to look for one of their shops!
#3
crap quality in this style - key loop snaps ridiculously easily and kingston do nowt about it.

haven't voted.
#4
the good thing about them though is they play in those cheap dvd players with usb slots you get from lidl or aldi lots of other brands dont.
so i voted hot

I've had one for a couple of years. Reasonable quality but as said above the plastic keyring loop bit is a bit nasty. Also write speeds are much slower than my Crucial overdrive so good for occasional use but not so great for regular moving of files in a hurry.
#6
Had one for 2 years now and it's still fine, cheap, not fast as mentioned but perfect for MP3s for the car

i got 2 for my kids school work thanx for the heads up :) had to ask them to scan 1 though coz they werent marked down on the shelf

Had one of these in 4gb and 8gb. Cant really fault them. simple drag and drop for all types of files and no nonsense plug an play in usb dvd players or even car stereos with usb port. voted hot...!

Just got 2 x 8GB after trying to convince the sales assistant to do a price check. Brilliant offer and still the sticker shows the original price of £19.99

Note that Windows ReadyBoost in Windows 7 can be used with these as I have just found out, just sped up my video encoding :D

I think the staff are going to whip these up :P

We just been in the Worksop O2 shop and what a cuffuffle.....the young assistant told us " yea we ave em but they have'nt been re price marked yet so we car t sell em you.... let me go and ask the manager, she sez to him " ave we got one of usb stick thingy's 8gb" (pmsl)..... no we aint got any he said. So i asked her " can you check to see what O2 stores have got any and I'll go and get one from there".... NO! she said,we can only check our own stock!. So I replied " well the Mansfield or the Sutton branch,Can you ring them? " NO she said.....We have'nt got thier number!!!! it ll be 118 for that. OMG PMSL Its a O2 telecomunication internet modern shop and she could nt find out for a potential customer the details of another O2 shop!!!

Just rang the Mansfield O2 store and the assistant knew staight away what I was talking about...We are off to purchase a few now, thanks for the info..have some heat.

They're good quality memory, and much safer than buying off the net (there's currently an epidemic of fake memory about). I had this style in 2GB, and I must say that they are slower than other Kingston sticks, and they don't take kindly to rough handling - loop breaks and it's easy to bend the plug where it enters the plastic body, and the body easily splits lengthways. Maybe I'm just too careless. I think Kingston have phased out production of this casing.

OTOH, you'll actually get the size you pay for, unlike eBad. Also The cap also clips onto the end of the stick, which I really like.

Thooght they had to be quite fast for readyboost?

Ihave eboostr on my Xp system wita a fast 2gb sandisc...still not sure if it has much effect. Only thing i've noticed is PS CS2 sometimes LAGS a few seconds if doing something new !

maybe the reason for the reduction...selling through a poor design @ good discount.

OMG..... I wish some shop staff were 100% informed and regularly trained on what products they sell in thier shops..... After ringing the Mansfield Mansfield O2 store and the assistant knew straight away what I was talking about we went into the store and another store assistant did'nt have a clue what a 8gb USB memory stick pen was.....She was trying to sell us the microSD card, After 5 Mins of Persistance & insisting she scan the 19.99 packaging we finalinaly left with what we went for...

That'll be due to the way the others are formatted .....

The cheapo dvd players will probably be looking for FAT/FAT32 .....:)
