I have started using CBC a lot. They are based in Sheffield so I order it online then go and pick it up the next day. Nice service and nice people. Also feels better to fund a more local business.

They do sell the microserver as well at £227.99 if you want to combine and go for next day delivery: Postage charges for next day delivery will apply, but the impact is lower than adding it for a single product.

They indicate that the cashback offer is stil on.

I bought a laptop hard drive from CBC 18 months ago. Seem like a pretty decent company.
#4
I got my Microserver from there and that's when I started using them. Have some pretty good prices.
#5
Excellent price for a 8GB kit. I couldn't find any info on the operating voltage. Probably 1.65v given its 4GB and cheap.
#7
Voltage 1.5V. Cas 9-9-9-27. Tempted.

Excellent deal, I don't think I've seen 8GB this cheap so far. I'd get some for my HP Microserver, but I'm waiting for promotions to send me the £100 cheque. They confirmed they'd received the application a couple of weeks ago so here's hoping they process it soon.

Bought mine last week. Hoping to get spare RAM from work (I work in IT, and some of our servers were upgraded recently), but I'll be taking advantage of this deal if nothing turns up there. Haven't got it set up yet, as I'm waiting on some extra RAM... it's killing me! :p Got two 2TB drives in it and losing patience! oO

I think it is a pretty good deal for 8GB. This ram does work with lower timings as well. I think I have mine set at 7-7-7-22, 1T, and it is very reliable.

i dont intend to upgrade to vail 64 so not needed on my x510

Op should also add deal for the 8gb 1600

store.cbccomputers.com/products.asp?partno=KHX1600C9D3K2%2F8GX

2x4gb @ $55.98 (sterling).

The "specification" tab indicates that is 1.65V, so it depends on your voltage requirements.

The only option I can see (without an account) shows price with delivery at £56.69, although they do indicate 1.5V.

SORRY. This should have been a reply to clairelee7 / overclockers comment and not the comment by Daniel_Saeed.

These OCZ ones are even cheaper still: OCZ Saverstore however they are out of stock at present but do have 2% quidco.

Unfortunately voted the deal down as there is a cheaper deal for same product.

No but the overclockers deal for the Kingston RAM identified by Claire is and that is what I was referring to. Try not to get all precious about your particular deal.

Is that the one that is more expensive as indicated in post 16?
#21
It was cheaper, obviously Overclockers website is pretty sophisticated that its prices change with demand/interest the same way an airlines does. The price was cheaper than yours when Claire posted. However this tet-a-tet isn't doing this thread any justice.

I agree.

My post is for a particular product that I have purchased from the named vendor. I know it works and I cannot comment on any other similar product or vendor. I think the price is good and I would buy again.

To those that are upgrading their Microserver RAM and wants to sell the 1GB ECC module, then please drop me a message!

Offer extended yet again to the end of JULY now. (same link as above).

Has anyone had any issues running Non ECC memory vs ECC in the microserver?
I presume this shouldn't be an issue as long as it's all the same installed.
