For an NC10 (or other Samsung netbooks) you would want this memory:

2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 800Mhz 200-pin Netbook RAM

Amazon sell Kingston 2GB 667MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL5 SODIMM at £31.90 as the upgrade for the Samsungs. Later ones have come withh 800Mhz fitted, but to quote from sammywiki.com "The Samsung NC20 Netbook supports PC2-5300 / 667 MHz RAM, but users have reported finding faster PC2-6400 / 800 MHz RAM installed in their model. Either should work fine," ::?

Just ordered - should work great in my EEEPC 1005HA. Heat and rep added!
#7
Will this work in an acer aspire one ?
'On further investigation 1.5 GB of Ram is max so no point !!'

Hi all, not sure what the rules are on posing a link to another supplier, but I recently upgraded memory in 2 of my old laptops for my kids to use. Both up to the maximum 2GB that each laptop could use.

I used www.funkygiraffe.co.uk

Here is their equivalent (I think with a quick check), only £17.08 with Royal Mail recorded delivery (2nd class)

http://www.funkygiraffe.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage-ask.tpl&product_id=47&category_id=32&keyword=e2gb667so&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1

They sell on Ebay or direct. I found direct cheaper than their Ebay shop, even when having to add postage costs. Service was very good, delivery was within 4 working days.

Just to add, I am no way involved with this company.

Worth checking out before the 'main' competitors.

Kingston > Unbranded RAM though ;)

Hot deal, just bought 1 to better my gf's ageing laptop.
#10
This sounds like a cracking price.

I'd prefer 800Mhz RAM to match what's currently in my recently acquired Dell Studio laptop.

Anyone know if this 667 Mhz Kingston Value Ram is likely to overclock to 800Mhz?
#11
I'd rather match the existing 800Mhz RAM currently in my laptop, too. Not sure how much performace I'd see going from 2Gb to 3.5Gb either.
#12
Just wondering, does RAM need to be in 'matched pairs'?

I have 2x1gb in my laptop, if I were to remove one and put this 2gb in would that be ok, or is it better/faster to have two of the same?!

Thanks!

The extra GB will give a bigger benefit than running in dual-channel.

Large amounts of RAM are more beneficial than smaller amounts with greater bandwidth, especially if you are running Vista.

That said, at this price, no reason to not buy 2 sticks and replace both in your laptop. :)

So is 64-bit Windows 7 performance going to be better with the original 2gb @ 800Mhz or with 4Gb @667Mhz?
#15
Would this work/be beneficial for the Acer Revos that have recently been popping up?
#16
Would this RAM work in a Lenovo X61?

Thanks

4GB @ 667Mhz most likely, bit it depends on what your processor is.
#18
seems like a great buy for branded ram
#19
Cool. This is what I bought last Thursday but still awaiting delivery...didn't realize its actually a hot price. For those interested, I bought this for the Samsung N130 netbook as upgrade.
#20
Finally got round to ordering an upgrade for my eeepc, Cheers!

Samsung fit DDR800 in netbooks, but the chipset only supports DDR667 so this RAM will be just as fast...
#23
Also good for Intel Imacs, good igf you an get it at this price.
#24
Will these fit the Dell Inspiron that was a hot deal a few weeks back?
#25
on order now from 7daysshop
#26
Was going to order until I saw that they have non in stock. Beware - My experience with 7day is that they are fine if the item is in stock but it takes an age when on back order.
My previous order is still waiting for stock from more than 2months ago!!

Hot deal for those that ordered from stock though

:)

Morning, I've got a Compaq / HP Mini 700 that came with only 1GB of RAM, only 1 slot as well

I take it I can just drop this module in to double my memory capacity

Thanks

the crucial memory tool recommends PC2700 or 3200

Can this one be fitted or will it cause problems?

If you're talking about this deal http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/509521/dell-inspiron-1545-notebook-core-2-

The RAM on the Dell runs at 800mhz while this is slower, so they will all run at the slower speed I think, not sure how much difference it will actually make though :?

I noticed they have the Kingston memory for the 1GB at 7dayshop see link below for £13.99

http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_11&products_id=105221

They also have Lexar Crucial and Dane-elec for £12.99 I'm not sure if this is a good deal as the above Kingston 2GB price.
Or wether the CL6 speed on the Lexar will make a difference to your machine compared to the CL5. Maybe somebody reading this comment will be able to help you more.

will this work on my laptop...if no then which will work plz tell.

Has anyone received this item yet? I ordered last Wednesday when it said it was in stock but on Thursday it changed to out of stock, now the product page has completely gone. Did they ever have it in stock and are they likely to honour?
Thanks

From my experience 7dayshop normally take just over a week to deliver so I wouldn't worry. From my experience they are not a dodgy company. You should get it soon.
#37
Thanks. My order status is now on 'back order'. Just wondering if it is ever likely to be back in stock bearing in mind they have removed the product page. Not used them before but I guess I will find out one way or the other soon....hopefully.

A quick search on their website is no longer showing any 2GB Kingston SODIMM's listed for laptops on it I'm afraid - you might want to drop them an email to get an ETA on when stock will be available, as there has been mixed reviews on how they handle back-orders.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!
#39
No sign of mine and status is 'back order'....
Do they just cancel the orders in the end or is it up to the punter?
#40
Ah well.

Thank you for your recent internet order.
We are now out of stock of the following item,
and do not expect to obtain further stocks.

KVR667D2S5/2G - Kingston Value Laptop Memory (RAM) - SODIMM - DDR2 667Mhz
(PC2-5300) CL5 - 2GB

This item has therefore been cancelled from your order.

You have not been charged for this item, and
the other items on your order - if any - will be with you soon.
