is it still best to get "matched pairs" for DDR memory or can you just by any 2 of the same brand?

Also if you order 2 you will get a matched pair.

Also do 800MHz at same price.

£3.95 per order.

Good deal but still for £1.65 more I'll prefer the Kingston one.

But why would you only buy one?

Sorry didnt read its for Asus EEE which only has one slot.

If its DDR and not DDR2 then matched pairs dont matter. Most RAM sold as matched pairs are not in fact that but just from the same batch. However some expensive high speed RAM is tested and matched with other sticks of similar performance.

No reason why not, as long as you have the Intel variety, which have 2 slots for DDR2 SO-DIMMs. The G4 varieties take a single DDR DIMM bar. Just bear in mind, that your Mac Mini will only see up to 3.3GB of RAM memory due to the motheboard chipset. If you have a Core Solo or a CoreDuo cpu as opposed to a Core2Duo, it may only be up to 2GB. For the fastest graphics performance, make sure you use matched pairs of RAM modules.

Having said that, the Intel Mac Minis are a pain to crack open and get to the memory. The last time I did that one of the memory slots stopped working, effectively halving the potential total memory.

Would this work in a compaq presario r3000 laptop? Been thinking about upgrading that for a while...
#19
Would this be OK for a Dell Inspiron 1525?
#20
Does anyone know if this can be used as an add-on to an Inspiron 1720?

Thanx in advance.
