Apologies if already posted but cannot find it, this is a bargain and perfect for sizzled steaks!. If anyone could do a pic that would be great.

The Kitchen Craft Clearview cast iron round grill pan is an essential item in healthy, diet conscious cooking. The pan is a dry fry pan with an internal ridged base, thereby requiring no oils or fat whilst cooking while the ridged base allows fat to drain away from the food and creates that seared, restaurant style look to food. Cast iron is a heavy duty, highly durable material which allows for even heat distribution. The pan is also coated so that it builds its own non-stick surface with use. Suitable for use on all types of hobs including induction.

Has anyone got any tips on how to stop food sticking in one of these? I have a square version and find that most things ends up sticking to the bottom, only real exception are thick cut steaks, chops etc....

I seasoned the one I just got from Tesco. Heat it up then put some vegetable oil in it and rub it around with some kitchen roll. Then wipe away any excess and leave it to cool. Then lightly oil the meat you are putting in it rather than putting oil in the pan.

Agreed... plus wash (with soap as necessary) just don't scour, dry pan out on a hot hob/gas to prevent rusting, (oil a little first will also improve the carbonising when it is still fairly new too. When older you probably won't need to bother.)

Use high heat too (that is the whole point of having one!), any meat that sticks at first, soon frees itself, don't turn over until failry well browned it also avoids liquid seeping out and boilng it!

Thanks for the replies aerotec and nihcaj, will give your suggestions a try. I'm guessing from your answers it's a bit like seasoning a wok. Better avoid putting it in the dishwasher too. Rep added.
