Great Sound
Wherever you go, Custom-1 lets stunningly precise audio go with you. Exclusive KG332 balanced armatures generate deeper bass, a more robust midrange, and clearer high notes for that true-to-life listening experience only Klipsch can deliver. And if you find yourself not completely blown away by Custom-1’s performance, you probably don’t have the right fit or seal. So be sure to try out various ear tip sizes.

Great Comfort
Featuring a black soft-feel paint finish with off-white lettering on its earbuds, Custom-1 earphones utilize dark gray patent-pending Contour Ear Gels that are anatomically designed to accurately fit inside the human ear canal. These soft, oval silicon tips reduce ear fatigue as well as provide an amazing seal for excellent noise isolation and bass response.
Because ear canal measurements vary, Custom-1 comes with five different washable ear gel sizes: small, medium, and large single flange designs as well as small and large double flange designs. Such variety allows these earphones to fit more of the population than the competition.

For perfect exterior comfort, flexible ear wires bend over and around the ears so they can be customized to each user. And not only do these adaptable wires provide optimal comfort, they also let users experience full or partial noise isolation—a great safety feature for on-the-go users. Just pull the ear gels out of the ear canals and adjust the wires to firmly position the earphone nozzles over the canals.

Great Durability
Klipsch has gone to great lengths to ensure the long-lasting durability of Custom-1 earphones, up to and including its 50-inch-long cables. Put through extensive “real world” testing, these headphones feature appropriate strain relief at every cable connection point to help prevent wire damage. Plus, underneath the cable’s black cloth weaving, a special PVC Wireguard jacket prevents the wires from becoming exposed and frayed.

Added Frills
Great iPod headphones, Custom-1 also works with the iPhone and virtually any device with a headphone jack. These headphones come with a compact high-quality vinyl carrying case, five sets of ear gels, and an ear tip cleaning tool.

good deal, but quick google shows these as the entry level earphones - I think the previous price of £99 is for the Custom-2 ............... May '08 What Hi-Fi
http://whathifi.com/blogs/mp3/archive/2008/05/15/news-klipsch-plugs-a-gap-with-custom-fit-earphones.aspx

(I really wish amazon, play, etc were a little more honest with the consumer when it comes to previous and suggested retail pricing)

As mentioned in OP, other retailers are selling the same model for £60 and Amazon's price is £18 delivered

some places selling for £80 +

Still seems like a helluva deal even if Amazon are stretching the RRP a bit.

Yep - exactly that. You enter a wee world of your own.

Not recommended for use whilst cycling - if walking / jogging be very careful when crossing roads.

Aeroplane engines !!!!!

Your not a pilot are you ?? - not sure if you should be using these while flying :w00t:

I have just read a review which suggested they fit securely in your ear enough whilst running. There not designed for this though, unlike the Sennheiser LX 70.

I have the IPOD player, the sound is immense. The quality of this brand is up there with the likes of BOSE etc

Never used the headphones, but going by the Igroove, there going to be good

Good review here - http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/klipsch-custom-1-review-w-pics-303149/
And What-Hifi gave them a three out of five stars, so it seems they are getting mixed reviews. Although the reviewer over at head-fi said they were great for running and with a impedance adapter (which he knocked up at home), allowed him to drive the Custom 1's a little harder and the bass went from the standard 'weedy' sound to becoming a lot more apparent - something that might be worth noting.

What hifi dont seem to like them

Klipsch’s £200 Image in-ears have become very popular around these parts, and we’re fairly fond of the £150 Custom3s, too, so we had high hopes for these baby brothers.

Sadly, they’re not up to the sonic sophistication of either their siblings or direct rivals.

The Custom 1s hurl the music into your ears, and the top end can easily become strident. Shure’s SE110s are a better bet.

Thats with a price tag of £69 though, so i bought them anyway, thanks for the spot.

I've been through loads of earphones whilst running.

Personally I find that anything that sticks in your lugs too far end up squelchy, fall out, & thump with every step.

I've been using these for about a year now and love them: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-PMX70-Sportline-Neckband-Headphones/dp/B000FJD5IA

You forget you are wearing them and as the design doesnt block your ear canal completely you still have a sense of cars coming up your behukie.

They are water rinsable so dont end up stinking and come with a 2 yr warranty.

Sound quality is pretty good too.

Only down side is the colour

I've ordered these as well - for when i'm not too sweaty.

se110 bass too low? BOSE a quality brand. What Hi-Fi over Head-Fi star rating.
Comedy thread :)

I'm constantly tempted by these recent earphone deals just because I'm interested in demoing them. Perhaps I should just get a job as a reviewer as I certainly don't need them to supplement my current pair.

looks like the price has gone up to £59.99 again :(

EDIT:
you need to click on the link to the side for the £17.99 price : http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000WAHFBU/ref=pd_luc_mri?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months.

Nope.. look at the list of other sellers on the right & Amazon is first on the list @ £17.99 :)
#33
You can still get them if you follow the link below saying 'Available Used & New from £17.99' - they are still new, and they are from Amazon. However I was discouraged as when I came to the checkout estimated dispatch date was 22/12/2008 - 19/01/2009.
#34
Does it come with any warranty?
#35
Just keep checking the site. Amazon done this with the Klipsch wireless ipod speaker, after a couple of hours the delivery time changed. Just bought a a pair at £17.99, time until delivery is not important to me as long as they arrive. Thanks to 'OP'
#36
bought a pair this morning @ £17.99 with a delivery estimate: 24 Nov 2008 - 28 Nov 2008

#37
Pls dont expire threads without checking - still available to order - although there'll be a delay due to low stock :)
