The compact and stylish Klipsch iGroove not only accepts and charges all dockable iPods, it also works with the Nano, Shuffle, a variety of MP3 players and other audio devices using the included dock adaptors. Now available in this high Gloss sleek black finish, it has an aesthetic flair that nicely complements almost any room's decor. It features dual 2.5-inch fiber-composite woofers in a ported enclosure, dual 1-inch MicroTractrix Horn-loaded tweeters and a built-in iPod dock. To ensure an optimal and precise dispersion pattern, the exclusive MicroTractrix Horns are formed into the speaker baffle, a design that offers the lowest diffraction and maximum release of energy into the listening area. The system is ready to perform as soon as you plug it in and dock an iPod, and the included wireless remote control allows interaction with both the iGroove and iPod. The iGroove comes with a convenient solution for allowing the use of the Shuffle and other MP3 players. The include "J-Cup" insert can be placed in the docking area for MP3 players that use a standard mini-jack (headphone) stereo output.

Any reviews?

Most people rave about Bose, but colleagues of mine alwys put Klipsch before Bose and this seems a total bargain at the price.

plenty of reviews on the amazon site. 192 out of 222 gave it 5 stars.
#3
I've got a Creative Zen vision M. Would this need to be connected by a wire, or would it sit in the dock?
#4
I'm trying to decide between that 1, this one which is £100 at Currys, and this one

Bargain! Really good dock, better than the Bose one and you don't have to pay the premium for Bose's marketing costs.

This is a great piece of Kit. Sounds fantastic at both low and high volumes.
Two things to consider though are: 1) Infra Red Remote so line of sight needed and 2) no Bass or Treble controls so if you like to mess you can't.
Anything other than an Ipod will need to use a 3.5mm connector and then you can only use the remote for volume.

I bought one of these last year from Amazon.

The sound is excellent across the range, I play a varied selection of music and am more than happy that this little piece of kit does the job admirably.

(re above from Barijohn - Bass/treble etc can be altered if your MP3 allows you to do it on the player itself. For example my Nano has options for different types of sound output and I found that spending a few minutes setting this up and I could find the setting that I prefered.)

I have one of these, we tested it back to back with the Bose. The iGroove is better in my opinion.

A good price for a great docking unit. It will also charge the iPod/iPhone.
#9
I've got one of these and would recommend it to anyone.

I would say its equal to the bose if not better, and at a much nicer price. I paid £100 for mine.

It looks great with an iPod docked in it, but you can attach any mp3 player through the headphone socket (it comes with the wires), it just doesn't look as good...

I quite like the look of first tower one. Cant seem to find it online for £100 though. Is this only instore in currys?

Anyone know how the Intempo tower compares to the iGroove?

By the way a Silver IGroove is also available at amazon but at £98.

Surely at £100 though the Intempo Tower version is better value? It definitely looks better.

Does anyone who has this let me know if the iphone (3g) docks and charges on this or is it a case of plugging the jack in and having no volume control?

thx

I want one and haven't even got an MP3 Player lol

It's on the Currys website for instore collection only, doesn't look like too many stores have stock though.

will this work with the iphone?

Thanks

I just had mine delivered today and all I can say is that I am very difficult to please and I'm ecstatic with the sound quality particulary once the volume is turned up to the extraordinary level of loudness this is capable of.

Got mine from ebay for 80 quid and it was by the far the cheapest I could get so the Amazon price is excellent.

For this kind of money (and probably for a couple of hundred quid more) you could not expect better. I've had other ipod speakers and I'm blown away. Positive enough for you? BUY ONE TODAY!

I've just found out that my Creative Zen vision M fits onto ipod docks, but whether it plays through them is another matter. Bought this, so will find out in a few days time I suppose.

the intempo docking staion is £99 in asda
i have the clipsch one and i am well impresed

Anyone using one of these with a 3g Nano? I'm sure I read that the nano doesn't fit perfectly with any of the supplied dock adapters on the Klipsch, which is why I ruled it out initially. I'd be interested to see if anyone is using one of these with a 3g nano....:)

I-Phone compatible anybody????????????

I have used an ipod classic and an ipod video with mine and they fit very snug, so you might want to compare the width between these and an iphone.

like i said it fits snug...... time to go and get the duster i think....

I bought one of these over 18months ago now and paid the top price of 179.00 which was cheap at the time.

Everyone who comes round and see's it is amazed at the sound that comes from such a small box!!

In my opinion the curves of the old model are alot better looking then the new 'Bose' look alike on Amazon.

I'm also pretty sure my mate stuck his i-phone in it ..........not sure if the remote worked with it though or he had to select off the phone its self.

Even my mate who is a bit of a Bose fan and owner admitted the base was far better!

that's something I was looking into as well.
I found the Chronos iDock [specs at http://www.pure.com/Products/product.asp?Product=VL-60903&Category=] which sells for £83.99 on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Chronos-iDock-Digital-clock-radio/dp/B000VKICEU
Also there is the Intempo RDI [specs at http://www.intempodigital.com/RDI/AJ100031,en_GB,pd.html?contentview=true] but reviews on What Hi Fi are mixed about it

This Deal is Hot,

I got this for my misses and have to say that I'm really impressed. I'm glad I didn't fork out for the Bose, i'd have been well annoyed if I'd heard this after I'd forked out double for that. I've also plugged my Zune into it and that also sounds top notch.

I'd consider the Logitech Pure-Fi Elite Speaker Dock if you want a radio (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Pure-Fi-Elite-Speaker-Dock/dp/B000UJQMZI/ref=pd_sbs_ce_25). I wouldn't say it's as slick and it's a bit more expensive but I've heard that the sound is very good.

Anyone who's interested, just got mine to play my Creative Zen vision M through, and it's great. Unfortunately, even though it will sit in the unit comfortably, it won't play unless plugged in with the J cup. It still looks great with this on it though! The remote control works the volume this way, but not for skipping tracks. Never mind, cos on the plus side, I can play the radio through it, which the ipods can't.
