Are these really worth £99.99?
Would I not have to re-import all my cd's to Apple Lossless format in iTunes to fully appreciate these?
#16
just got mine in Selfridges HMV. Priced at £179.99 but went through the till at £99.99. They also have the X5 at £79.99 as does HMV Bond Street.

Just listening to them now. I think they neeed some "burn in" time but they already sound much better than my old Sennheiser CX500 which I loved.

Not at all - all your MP3's would sound much better with these compared with most other headphones. Obviously, the better the source, the better the quality, but most of my music is downloaded from iTunes.

HMV Croydon has 1 X10 left locked in glass cabinet, priced at £149.99 but came up as £99.99 on till.

And also they have 2 X5 priced at £99 but I didn't confirm price so might be reduced to £79.99.

Bought a pair at HMV Brighton today, £99.99. Incredible with a good fitting ear gel, and should only get better :) Very happy indeed. :-D

It's good value for money as they will last a while and sound awesome. I've got a pair a few models down. The more you pay, the better the quality (generally).

This is expensive

Can you explain a bit further please? I'd like to know what a regular headphone is for a starter.

Have you compared this with others? If so, would appreciate your reviews on them, and why you don't like the Klipsch.
#29
Yeah right "Lee07"!!! You sound like a real expert! Duhhhhhhhh!

I have the Klipsch custom 1and I love them, even bought a spare pair. Excellent customer service (Klipsch) too. My first pair broke, emailed Klipsch and they sent me a new pair within a week.
#31
wonder if these are any better than my Shure SE310's. Kinda prefer the fit of my old E3C's but open to anyone who has used both for some feedback. Great price BTW
#32
Guys - this is what the troll wants. Let him post such comments as he is not willing to spend this sort of money.

You know that if he'd heard what these sounded like, he would not be stating that these are the same as cheaper ones.

Personally I love good deals on items that I cannot afford myself / would rather not buy. Others are just jealous.

£99.99 No thanks. Wish i had money to waste:whistling:

Don't know about that but rate my SE310s very highly and find the fit of these much better than my old e2c which I sold not long after getting them.
#35
These were on my shortlist before splashing rather more on the Shure SE530's. Supposed to be very good.

Yeah mate. £100,000 grand for a Ferrari....It's just a car for gods sake!

I've gone & lost me new Skullcandys & I am gutted.

Would be tempted by the X10's if I hadn't ordered the Jedi dressing gown the other day :-D

errrrr.................no.
you cant compare this to a car situation. theres a big difference between a normal car and a ferrari, whereas normal earphones and these......dont think you'l notice much else apart from the so called 'snazzy look'.
alot of the quality of sound is down to the frequency its converted to not the headphones.

should not be ttempted by this by am!!

seriously? Apart from the engine, it's got components found on other cars. I thought the looks had something to do with the inflated price tag.

£100 is not an extortionate amount of money for something that is very personal to someone. They will be going into your ears so, apart from the sound, the fit has to be spot on.

I think these's don't look particular good or stand out - (unlike the Dr Dre Beats ones), which is what makes them a quality product.

THen again, if you're happy with your cheaper ones, fair play. DOn't try and criticise others who can afford for better quality because if you ever had the chance to try them out first, you'd understand the difference. Instead you think people love paying more (for something that others won't even know are that expensive).
