Rear is good, albeit with a slightly flimsy (but adequate) mount and represents good value alone at £2.99. Treat the front as disposable. It's bulky but quite bright and certainly adequate until the batteries run out. But using C batteries, running costs will be high, so chuck it once done and be content with the excellent value of the rear light.

Hot deal - thanks.

You can get a box of 20 C-type batteries (Duracell) over at www.battery-force.co.uk for £20, so running costs should be low. I certainly wouldn't agree with the reviewer in terms of chucking a front light away once the batteries are dead!

Ordered one for myself as it's starting to get dark and I cycle around a bit. I know the police are pulling over a lot more cyclists without lights at night these days! Hot + Rep!

Voted hot...went to order 2 sets for the kids, we've used this company a few times and saw in the previous orders section that my husband got some of these in August at the same price back then!

wonder if they make AA to C adapters
banned#20
Yes, I bought some about 10 years ago not seen them since however. I would like to add that a picture of the brackets is not included. I've bought a cheap pair from Argos before...gone down a curb and the bracket on the front broke. I promptly took it back for a replacement upgrade.
#21
found it as item 200158007249 on ebay

cool, i can use my nimh AAs!
#22
Chain reaction are great.
#23
You can buy AA to C battery converters from your local Maplin, or most online battery shops like Battery force. They are just plastic cylinder, hence cheap...and you can use your high capacity NimH AAs :)

...or (see ebay etc) holders that you can put standard AA (rechargeable or not) to convert them to type-C
#25
Thanks! I needed a new front light after someone stole my bike last week. Got a new one on insurance thankfully.

Why does everyone keep saying top deal, do you know how strong the brackets are? I'm sure you'll find out when you go down a bad road or foot path.

How do you know that the brackets are rubbish, have you got this exact same model?

They were £16.99 so should be half decent.

Its only £2.99, if it breaks in a month its still worth it!

You bought yours 10 years ago. If there is a probem with the brackets, then they might have changed the design in the 10 years since you bought yours.
#32
i have bought cheap lights before and they have been c-rap. I have a really expensive front light at the moment but i lost my rear so i have bought this set hoping that they will do the trick lol

thanks op

The 10 years reference was in reply to the post above mine, sorry for not quoting but it was in reply to the battery convertors.

Your order was dispatched on the 10th and there has been Royal Mail strike action in the interim, they are now back but the backlog is huge which they are trying to clear asap. I cannot give you a definitive date as to when you will receive your order I'm afraid.
