Knit and Stitch magazine launched its first issue today so i hunted the newsagents to find it.

At 99p its pretty good as you get 2 balls of designer Bergere De France wool 25g weight which is designer wool and 3 3.5mm metal knitting needles.

Issue 2 has 2 balls of wool and a crocheting hook for 2.50 and then issue 3 onwards is 4.50 but please be aware that there are 100 issues so this could get really expensive.

If you already have knitting needles and wool and just want the patterns then you can get the issues online on their website for free....

You can also subscribe to their issues and you get 5 free gifts worth £45 but you have to give 28 days cancellation and you know companies are like if you want to cancel a subscription =/

This isn't a hot deal as they've advertised that issue 1 would be 99p so this is the normal price. If you said a shop was selling it for 50p then that would of been a deal.

I think it's a deal!!! the other person is being difficult. people put up posts on here of prices that have been the same on amazon for weeks, are they going to claim they aren't deals as they are generally that price? this website is to alert people to what is good or not!

I'm not being difficult at all. Yes people post deals for Amazon that have been that price for weeks sometimes, but they are STILL THE CHEAPEST ON THE NET COMPARED WITH THE SAME ITEM ELSEWHERE.
This is the same price EVERYWHERE.

Do you understand the difference??

The Knit & Stitch Collection is £4.50 per issue (issue one special price of £0.99 and issue two special price of £2.50) :3

I stand corrected but it would be cheaper to buy a knitting book and wool instead of the complete collection.

For sure.

Just grab the wool yourself. If your round Bilston then you can get it from the shop next to the pub for 99p for 100g or you can get 100g from b&m for 1.09

Then go online and they upload an online version of the book you get so you can use the patterns from there =)

Thank you for posting this – I don’t care whether it’s a ‘deal’ or not – it’s worth buying! I’m certainly going to look for this magazine tonight when I go shopping.

You might want to update your original post as that shows £4.99 still.

I got DH to pick me one up today and sheesh I didn't expect much but the yarn is really cheap 100% acrylic and the balls are only 25g each. The needles are cheap as expected and the booklet is fairly small. I wouldn't even recommend this for new knitters TBH - they'd be better off getting one of the learning mags that has free yarn etc.

One day there will a decent partwork with decent yarn.....yeah right ;) But at £4.50 per normal issue this is so overpriced considering the very cheap 25g yarn balls and needles.

You're better off buying something like Stylecraft Special DK yarn (there are sites online selling it for £1.35 for 100g), using knittinghelp.com for free videos and then joining Ravelry.com to find any pattern imaginable.

I picked up issue 2 today out of interest - this mag is no use to anyone. For 50g of acrylic yarn, 99p is about right - £4.50 is shocking. The needles would cost around £1 from any online shop. The instructions are very sparse, and the patterns like the poncho on the advert are very confusing and badly written - even an intermediate knitter would struggle with some of the instructions, let alone beginners.

If you want to make a patchwork throw and cushion, you could probably achieve one of the same size with 12-14 balls of Stylecraft Special DK for under £20. Compare this to the nearly £450 for this part work and it's ridiculous! You can learn for free online or book a local class for £40-£80 and save your money for lovely natural yarn!

This is a hot deal because one ball of wool normally costs approx. £3. knitting needles are about £2.50 so really if this product wasn't a hot deal it would cost £8.50

Awww gutted that i've just decided to start knitting. Went round the shops yesterday looking for issue one but everywhere is on to issue 2 or 3.

Apparently theres a video in week one to show you how to knit, well worth 99p!
