I have the Kobo Touch (£79 at Asda or WH Smith) and it is excellent. I'm. sure the reviews said that the Touch was far better. I don't know about this one but the touch has a built-in web browser, sketch pad and Sodoku game and has just had a software update to make page turning far better......

I recently bought this Kobo and the Kobo Touch - the Touch was for me and the basic model as a gift and think both are great. Yes the Touch is better but currently that is £79.

In comparison to the Kindle the differences in reading quality and ease of use are tiny and considering that it costs £89 and 109 for normal and Touch version - there is no way the extra price is warranted. Kobo are being smarter by being more aggressive on price.

Got a touch and it's brilliant. Great deal for this however. Don't queue up for hours with all the other panic merchants and fill your tank, buy one of these and stay at home!

A good price, but echo other poster's comments that the kobo touch is better albeit £30 more.

Whats the cheapest price for the touch? Is £79 a good deal?

Does anyone know where I can find a list of the 100 pre-loaded books? Can't find anything on google.

    EDIT: Nevermind, found them.

Great price, I have the Touch and love it, much better than a kindle.

    Nice price, super hot deal!

Anyone considering it should just be aware that this feels sluggish compared to the other top e-readers (though if it's your first e-reader you probably won't notice that). The Kindle 4 is better (but not £20-30 better). If you want a non-touch screen e-reader, this is a far better option than those Binatone e-readers sold cheap on ebay/argos.

Though just to echo what everyone else has said, if you want to get an e-reader, the best value is to be found in the Kobo Touch for £79.

Why is it better than a Kindle?

The Kobo is a pretty basic piece of kit but this is an excellent deal.

Poor man's Kindle. I'd rather have the real thing for the sake of a few quid.

Not sure about 'poor man's kindle'. In my opinion the Kobo (I have the touch) is better than the Kindle. Expandable memory, excellent touch, allow you to use epub which is open source so you are not restricted to buying just from amazon. Pdf's are also displayed superbly.
