Not advisable on an e-ink type of reader. These have low power processors and lack the oomph to properly render pdf's.

Most including the Kobo lack a reflow ability which means you have to use horizontal scroll.

Some pdf's require little processing power. My mobile has a Cortex A8 1GHz and displays every pdf I have thrown at it so far. Older generation processor architectures and a lack of RAM contribute to the Kobo's poor performance in displaying pdf's.

For the long haul I can either read simple, mostly text, documents on an e-ink device like this, or I can pack a Cortex A8 based tab/phone and hope the juice will last. The latter seems most practical but I would like this to treat my eyes.

Due to having brought this while not from this deal, my experience with running epub and pdf ran flawlessly in this, there's none of this side scrolling and fonts, chapters etc also where integrated. It has rendered all of the PDF's i have thrown at it perfectly.

    Supporting Formats are:

    Books: EPUB, PDF and MOBI
    Documents: PDF
Images: JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP and TIFF
    Text: TXT, HTML and RTF
    Comic Books: CBZ and CBR

    Great deal.

That's the formats supported by the Kobo Touch, not the Kobo WiFi, which reads EPUB and PDF only - Kobo WiFi tech specs @ Kobo.

Ereaders can view PDFs but they're not ideal because of the small screen size. If you'll mainly use it for books and only the odd PDF, fine, but if you read a lot of PDFs you'd be better off with a tablet.

I ensure you it reads the formats. Example mobi files 100% work and its not on that list.
