yup no good for anything that requires real power like speakers or a camera

I agree, rechargable batteries are the way to go if you go through a lot of batteries!

Normally a big fan of Poundland, but not for batteries. I bought a pump (not in poundland) to blow up a camping airbed, and bought 2 packs of Kodak D-cell batteries to go in it. No kidding, 15 minutes and the things still wasn't blown up. My mate had exactly the same pump with 4 duracell batteries - his same size bed was up in about 3 minutes. I know people will say that duracells are more expensive, but with batteries, you do get what you pay for.

I find the maplins rechargables and a 1 hour sprint charger are great for WII Remotes, XBox controller and all the kids toys - expensive to start with (keep an eye out for the maplins BOGOF on batteries), but worth it in the end.

The gadget show did a value for money test on AA batteries. Find it if you can, was good.
