Cheers for the headsup in the other thread - ordered and heat added :)

Did see the original deal ages back but the site's been saying "Stock due 14th May" for ages. Guess it's not far off seeing as new stock is due in 4 days

lol back at you, with 8% topcashback on top of the £104 the deal is cheaper.

Care to provide a link for this place you have found it for £97, see what a reputable company it is.

This looks awesome. Can you take it swimming with you?

Great video and camera. Bought at full price for holls and dont regret it. Got some great underwater video snorkelling in the red see and very suprised at the quality of the stills for a 5 meg. States a 3m (10 foot) underwater capability.
#12
Ok before the geeks spot it,it should of course read 'sea'. Shouldnt have to worry but there are some very damaged geeks who use this site and love to jump in with both boots kicking.

#14
Seriously considering getting this for hols even though I probably won't really need it that much! lol!
#15
why would anyone buy the zi8 when the playsport has the same specs but is slightly smaller and more resistant...
#16
Bought this camera myself when the deal was first posted, brilliant camera, very impressed with the quality, especially on 720p and 60fps.

In fact I now use this over my jvc hdd camcorder which I paid a lot more for

Well the Zi8 has an external mic jack, macro mode and flip out usb connector. You're right in that they are practically the same when it comes to video quality but it really depends on what you need the camera for. :P

Do you have some pictures and a movie that I could look at? Sounds strange, but I don't trust most review sites pictures or videos because they always seem better than average photographer ascen!

I was SOO SOO tempted, but then snapped up the zx1...

I just hope I dont miss the 1080p or full waterproofness... too much (as this will be used for recording action, driving footage mainly, and I believe the 720P @ 60FPS will be used the most.

I just feel I would cry less about smashing up £40 then £97... but then this would have been better for my canoeing... AHHH decisions...

heres a vid of the quality, even though its been compressed for youtuve its still good

i believe the playsport is smaller (but slightly heavier) and also has a slightly more wider angle lens.

Actually you're right, the Zi8 is a bit bigger but lighter
#23
the Zi8 still seems a bargain

The codes do not work
#25
For right handed people only it seems. That's discrimination that is!

Also, the skew on 1080p is supposed to be horrible.

DO NOT WANT.
#26
The codes do not register for me, any ideas anyone?

No really on a 100 quid recorder you do surprise me
The skew is supposed to be bad when quick panning over stuff like a block pathed floor. So are most cheap recorders. For the price I've seen nothing but great reviews.

They have expired, I just tried them again after buying yesterday.

I've spent the last hour researching and considering this camera; decided to go ahead. I attempted to add the codes - each time it empties my basket! Help please!

Yeah, its because of the way CMOS sensors work, in theory most will have this but the more you pay the faster the cmos will be and the less distortion you get... My Casio EX-FH20 camera has a 720p video and that does not seem to have this issue (noticably at least) as the Kodak, but then it was supposed to be a £300+ camera (£240 with case 3 yr warrenty and rechargable batteries curtosy of this place) .

You get what youi pay for Trancemaster

From what I've read the skew only happens in 1080P - not noticeable in 720P

In that case its not bad at all and will be noticable only really because 1080P will take soo much more processing time then 720P ;-)

how does this fare with pictures? i'm going on a fishing holiday next month and if this will do the job it means i can leave my expensive lumix at home

Pics are ok - better than most phones but not as good as a "proper" still cam.

Yeh I got that email as well but checking my order status it says "boxed shipment" - and their site is showing them as in stock... so not sure what's going on tbh ;-)
#36
thanks :)

KODAK10, will give you £10 off

Anyone's order shipped yet? Mine's still "processing"
