Kodak's AA Xtralife batteries rated well (based on £ per mAh of service) on http://www.batteryshowdown.com/

I'm hoping their AAA batteries do as well. I've been disappointed with both Wilkinson (leaked in packet before expiration date) and Panasonic Alkaline Power (unexpectedly short life) brands recently.

These are the batteries I usually buy, as well as the AAA ones. They're all good.

I would never use Panasonic batteries, they don't last long and they usually leak. They destroyed my Diamond Rio PMP500 many moons ago!

I used cheap AAA batteries once a few years ago on my NAD amp remote and they leaked and permanently messed up the remote.

the Ikea ones according to http://www.batteryshowdown.com/ look very good value and performance is similar to standard duracell and less then half the price. might try them next time too.
