Usual low light problems, (eg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMVTpEPdhlU&feature=related ) but at least it is dirt cheap, so can't knock it for that!

Read a few moans about the software it comes with, so maybe best not to bother with that, there are plenty of other video software options out there

This is an interesting video review, in several differnt situations (& in 720p) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKd9WAB9od4&feature=related

Ive got one of these little bad boys. I'm far from being a camera techie guy but i think its great, i cant imagine most people/ families would really need anything that much better. Ive got a 16gb sd from play.com which works well. In terms of software i havnt actually used it, i just drag and drop from the memory card.
Would reccoend it for the price, Just my opinion. Great deal as i bought it a year ago for 100

I honestly don't get the point of these cameras - why not record video with a regular digital camera, which will have better picture quality and low light response (CCD sensor) plus optical zoom.

Is it the 720p? You can certainly get an ok still camers for around £50/£60 that does 640x480, on youtube can you really notice the difference?!

most small pocket camcorders like this have very good picture quality, definitely better than most digital still cameras.

I am looking to buy a pocket camcorder and I think I have narrowed it down to 4 models

JVC FM1
Flip ultra HD/or Flip Mino Generation 2
Samsung HMX-u10
Kodak Zi8

But I really don't know which is best. The main use will be for when I got to gigs/concerts, which tend to be indoors and not the best lighting, so which works best in low light conditions.

It doesnt have to be one of these four, am open to other suggestions, but no higher than £180 really.

Bit of a novice on this area so any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

What are you basing this on? I have this camera and, although the stills are good, my little £50 Canon which I've had for about 4 years kicks its ass.

This is a great deal for the money you get a capable HD (its 720P) video and capable stills camera in a pocket sized package. It also comes with 2 kodak AA size recharables and a charger. You can of course just use standard AA batteries which is very handy.

Get a 16GB Sandisk SDHC card cheap from Play. You don't need a whoop-dy-doo Class 6. I use a class 2 and it's fine.

All in all, I like mine and recommend it, but "better than most digital still cameras" definitely not.

i took it that he means the video is better than most still digital cameras which i would agree with, you don't get 720p at 60 fps on most digital cameras
