It is available at quite a few places for this price.

Quidco might come into it and being able to pick up as well so take your pick

Going Skiing on Saturday one of these would be great to take along, still unsure which one to opt for...

Medion Life S47000 (£39.99) or the Kodak ZX1 (£49.98)

Any more thoughts on choice would be much appreciated

(bear in mind it was priced at £105 when reviewed)

tempted to get one of these for skiing due to its weatherproof ability...

will wait a month though as not going for a month!

I have one of these and I can say they are well worth it for that price! One problem. It doesn't have a stabiliser so if it shakes a lot, it will show in the footage. Overall though, awesome.

Great post! Picking one up tomorrow. Thanks

If you go onto YouTube and search for Kodak ZX1 you can see plenty of examples of video samples taken with this camera, including 720p ones.

Might give you some more info before deciding on spending cash on it.

its only 720p though. if you're looking to get one for HD puposes then you'd be better off futureproofing yourself and getting one thats 1080p.

also bear in mind that a lot of these pocket cams dont really have any decent image stablization so if you take vids and move around then they'll probably make you feel sea sick when watching them back again :)
#25
ordered from amazon thanks.

Pointless quote, 720p is more than decent enough for most, and 1080p wont be "future proof" for too long at the rate technology advances nowadays anyhow. For the price, and quality of the camera this is a bargain!

How do these compare to the video function on a nice point and shoot? I have a Canon Ixus which seems to take nice video for playback on my computer - is there much of a difference with the video taken with one of these. I notice it doesn't have optical zoom either so am not certain what i would gain buy getting one of these over sticking with my camera. however, I do quite like the idea of being able to take it to the beach or skiing without worrying too much

I'm tempted to go for this deal but would like to know how many minutes of 720p footage @ 60fps you can get onto a memory card of, say, 4gb?

Also, has anyone here got any experience of using this for video blogging? Is it up to the task?
#29
got mine today, nice and handy for days out with my daughter
many thanks op

That's the reason I'm getting one. I worry too much about wrecking expensive gear and as a consequence, I think I've missed out on videoing some great times. With this at £50, I won't worry and it's also been designed to cope with harsher environments too.

Just under an hour on a 4gb card. Just got this cam today and the footage so far (lovely sunny day here in Reading) looks great, way better than my Canon A640 camera movie mode.

some untouched photos I uploaded today so you can judge the quality of its still image capture...not bad considering it's a vid camera.
