This is exceptional quality Basmati rice imo, better than Tilda's long Basmati for sure.

I went yesterday, they didn't have any left (only the Tesco brand, which didn't look that great).

I just wish a supermarket sold Kohinoor curry sauces. By far, the most authentic curry sauce.
#7
I grabbed a bag from the Longton store and it's really nice rice and at a god price too
#8
Hope they have it in stock. The last time this was on offer at Tesco they had none left. I needed some rice so had to buy some Tesco own brand pap!
#9
Who wants rice just order line
#10
got this last week at the full price ! typical
#11
Lovely.
Thanks. Going to get some1

Very good price for very good rice.
Personally, I wouldn't go for own brand. Basmati rice gets better as it ages. You would get better aroma with rice that has been aged & you certainly can stock it for upto two years (as long as you keep moisture at bay)

Personally I prefer Thai Fragrant Rice - 5Kg Elephant King Thai Fragrant Rice available at Tesco @ £7.99 - Not as cheap but worth it for a far superior product.

Can't compare?

Both a variety of long grain rice - tick
Both aromatic - tick
Both strongly flavoured - tick
Both suitable for 'gravy' dishes, eg curry - tick

If you prefer a rice that is dry (when cooked) and stinks and tastes like popcorn - choose basmati
If on the other hand you prefer a slightly 'sticky' rice with a nutty aroma and floral-piney flavours with citrusy overtones - choose Thai fragrant rice.
