You can see comments on the card here (just over a month ago):

At least indications are they are not hacked (testers on the 2nd page).

It's possibly to do with the company - Komputerbay. I became aware of them when I was looking for DDR3, and Komputerbay had flooded Amazon with very cheap modules. It got me a little wary to be honest so I began to Google and there was some very worrying comments on them. Granted, an SD card is different to a DDR3 module, but simply due to the the bad reviews I've read I wouldn't touch anything from this company.
Strange, the coldness. This is the cheapest this has ever been. Last deal of this went very hot when it was £19
Added this "good price" and also added retailer.

PS - Now £17!
These are great & I have never had a single one of them fail.

Good for a few extra movies, etc on smaller-capacity laptops - heated
I don't think I'd trust it for photos but fine (and performant) for replaceable storage.
I've had one of these fail on me, don't use it for anything important.

terrible company who operate in uk and pay ZERO TAX AND VAT, you will not get an invoice from them! and if you ask they say they are not VAT Rregistered because they are using amazons services? WTF, BULL!,

SO THEY LOOK CHEAP AS THEY DONT CHARGE THE 20% VAT the the rest of the UK trade do.

TAX DODGERS

what a dum dum
Jersey, they now pay UK TAXES when selling into the UK and have done for about 4 years as it was killing UK trade online as they were 20% cheaper as no VAT. that's all fixed now and fair.

you support these Guys if you want, but I won't, I will buy my products from companies who support the UK economies structure not use excuses to try and get around it.

Amazon are no better, they paid a fraction of what they should in TAX
Well look on other else companys registered on Jersey.
This site is to post deals not to comment on tax payers and business plans.

Thats interesting because fullfilled by amazon work where the seller sends their stock to amazon to keep in their warehouse and send out when someone orders it kind of like their own stock that they hold. That is odd. i would put the blame there at Amazon tbh

Iffy supplier:(
I thought the same, but in October I ordered some RAM from them (the Amazon page for it says 'Dispatched from and sold by Amazon'). The item suddenly went out of stock, then reappeared with a a 50% price increase. My order is still marked as outstanding on Amazon, with delivery expected November 7th, but Kompbay say the order is cancelled. They refuse to say who cancelled it.....
After 3 or 4 days of pointless emails and phone calls I realised neither Amazon nor Komputerbay were going to help, so bought elsewhere.
I'm inclined to think 50/50... I guess Kompbay cancelled the order because they didn't want to sell me the new stock at the old price, but Amazon has hardly busted a gut trying to get them to fess up and deliver.

Just received - slotted them in (slightly tighter than usual) but they are fast - getting 7.9 on the score for RAM.

I can confirm these are great value and seem very quick on my system.
just ordered - heat from me, I've never been disappointed with memory from Crucial

I've just had a Corsair Vengeance stick die on me - so that pair are on their way back for repair/replacement. I then have 16GB when they return - saying that I was gaming OK on steam last night - and my remaining 4GB stick was not even get near 50%.
As you can see these are standard height, so will fit under large CPU coolers on your system if that is an issue.

Generally good reviews across all the sites I've seen 90%+ ratings all round.

If you love arbitrary numeric rankings these can apparently get you to a 7.9 Windows Experience Score for Memory.

Performance improvement is minimal.
Has anyone experienced any substancial gains in performance in using ram with heatsinks, without a fan attached to the heatsink I dont see how the heat can escape quickly?
Nice price, good money value...
Great modules for the price, well worth it!
sparx1981
Does Ram speed e.g. 1600mhz make a huge noticable difference? If so in what way? I have 1600mhz Ripjaws but considering going upto above 2000mhz

Mostly pointless considering you'll only end up with worse latencies. Its always a trade off. You can get more raw bandwidth but with crappier latencies which doesn't really help at all. 1600mhz with tight timings (that you set yourself) is really good enough, and someone with supposedly much faster RAM but didn't bother setting the timings will have virtually no advantage whatsoever

http://www.bjorn3d.com/2012/04/kingston-2400mhz-8gb-quad-channel-memory-kit/ Here you see that in the performance tests like 3Dmark and cinebench (not the raw bandwidth tests) the difference between the 1600mhz Gskill and the 2400mhz Kingston is basically a couple of percent, despite the fact at first glance the Kingston has 50 percent faster clockspeed and costs a bomb..........

I have purchased two lots of this exact product at different times:
1st time: 27 May 2012 £67.00 (over £10 cheaper than anywhere else at the time)
2nd time: 27 Sep 2012 £47.99 (again cheapest but this time by only a few £)

Both times, no problems:
1st: tested memory using laptop BIOS built in "thorough testing" option - no problems.
2nd: tested memory using laptop BIOS built in normal long memory test option - no problems - machine running for 4 days without issue, in use most of that time.

I was expecting issues because it was cheap too.

Ballistix Sport oO ...what, it plays tennis or something (_;)
ram is so cheap these days
Bought this from eBuyer a month or so ago for a new build with an Asus P8Z77-M - sadly one stick was DOA which was very much a pain in the a** for me, had to RMA with some Cosair instead as no Ballistix in left in stock (extra £7!) - you'd think Crucial would test it before packaging the stuff.
It's been £29.99 at Scan recently but went back up to £34.99 today. Still a better deal for anyone that qualifies for their free shipping though.
Bought two 8gb kits (4gig modules total) of this back in May, top notch although slightly cheaper back then from eBuyer. Supposedly good for overclocking too if you're into that sort of thing.

This ram is horrendous, I brought this kit last week to replace 2 x 2GB sticks in my laptop

Running a Minecraft server with my 4GB ram, CPU runs at 80 - 85c, with this 8GB ram (yes i'd tweaked the pagefile & other stuff so it knew it had new, improved ram in) it got to 95c then the laptop auto shut down, people on the server complained how laggy it was compared to what it usually is

Stay away from this ram & spend your money elsewhere on better ram

Sorry, why do you need to change your pagefile for a computer to know it has more RAM?

Depends how you have windows configured, if you have it set with a fixed page file size, you will need to adjust it for more ram.
