oh available in 18" and 20" - the 18" may be available elsewhere. The code above I think is for the 20" version.

Check!

Good find - but its only available in 18" (I've just been trying to work out how I missed it, til I found that!)

08 is similar, lighter, and has a very slightly worse Front Derailler, but if you want 18".... tough one really... go on favourite colour!

Don't think the forks are as good, but yeah looks good. To be honest I had my heart set on a Kona, so limited my choice a bit!

Prefer hardtails myself (ooh err), but each to their own etc!

"Brakes Hayes MX4 Mechanical"

Nice bike, but mechanical disc brakes are naff. :(

Why use Avid brake levers but not Avid brakes (juicys)????

Why you say that? The hayes aren't the worst, but you know, obviously not the best.

They are so far and away above v brakes though... and so easy to adjust. I could go over the handle bars pulling on the back brake!

Don't really get the need for hydr's.

Not just trying to defend my wheels honestly - just dont see the need - but interested in the discussion!

Just noticed a mistake on the spec list btw...

F/D Shimano Acera-X
R/D Shimano Acera-X

The ones from halfords are Deore, Deore.

not that a great deal to me, cable didks not hydraulic, i bought a better spec cannondale for £300 it was on offer though, but you can still buy a 08 cannondale F6 for £400 and you get avid juicys, and it uses the same frame as the more expensive cannondales, ive allreay statred upgrading mine.

this was the original link, but there are still 08 bikes around for £400 a better buy me thinks

Antwon: Well it was true 6 days ago...

fozzy17: I'd MUCH rather have good mech brakes (hayes) than cheap hydraulics. Not sure about the wheels + tyres either way, but the gear mechs and DRs are better on the blast. better price though!!!

Avid 3 brakes are pretty decent brakes, the only difference between them and the more expensive avid 7's are adjustability, but the 3's can easily be setup as good, my F6 has been used and abused along with my giant X1 and not issues at all the chainset at all.. but when they need changing then i will upgrade..
