I will have you know that in 1985 I bought a very expensive, top of the range, newly engineered ground breaking framed bike. You could pick it up with your little finger & the BELL weighed as much as the bike itself...

Still I cant remember if it was a Quasar or a Pulsar.... Possible the Pulsar with a grey/bluey frame.

Tescos.... lol

Whats with all the moronic responses again on a bike above a couple of hundred quid? I am looking for a new mountain bike and not knowing much about them would prefer to read comments from people who know something rather than complete muppets who waste your time

As opposed to reading yours which clearly shows you are indeed in need of a mountain bike to be pulled right out of your backside.

If you know nothing about mountain biking, why are you considering a £1k bike? If you want advice, you need to give some clues as to what you need.

OK, this is a steal but only if you're going to ride it at trail centres or cross country (xc) in the likes of Wales, The Lakes, The Peaks or Scotland etc. If you want a bike for going to work, the shops or going around the park on then this is not sort of bike/money for you (probably). And no, it won't get nicked because you will NEVER leave it unattended unless you're in the middle of nowhere and well away from thieving scum (probably).
Do a quick search on the price of the parts if bought piece by piece for an idea of the value offered here.
I would happily (just about) pay this for the right titanium frame but then mountain biking is a hobby for me...not just a mode of transport (my Mercedes 190e cost half this amount...but doesn't have a bell).
This is the 3rd well priced bike i've seen in 2 days on here and everytime someone reckons a bike is just a bike and £200 should do it. I cannot describe the hammering my bike takes at the weekend, I have no idea how the frame and parts are still in working order never mind in almost perfect condition - a £200 catalogue bike would be in pieces or have killed me by now. If you disagree you are either a lucky MTBer or you're making it up.

Yeah, this is the 09 model, but honestly many of the components look better on the '08 model. Still, its a decent reduction in price, and is one of the best specced hard-tails you can buy.

Thanks markinoxon. I currently have a specialized hardrock pro which I bought a few years ago for a couple of hundred quid. the bike was 6 months old and I paid less than half price for it because the lad wanted something better. my lad has a boys specialised back which will soon be passed to his younger brother and he will have mine. So am looking for something similar without paying full money for it so last years models are usually the place to look. £900 is too much for my use but posted because the bike threads just get a load of muppets on them if the cost is above what tesco will charge for a POS

Have a Kona Kula 2008 (non deluxe)

Great bike, take it on trail centres across single track. Climbs like an absolute dream (unless it's too steep, the nose tends to rise off the ground if you sit too far back due to the geometry)

This will be better.
