Koss PortaPro Stereophones - Free lifetime warranty

High Quality Sound Sets Performance Standard for Portable Listening

First introduced in 1984, this high quality portable stereophone set performance and comfort standards for personal listening worldwide. Over the years, much to the delight of devout Porta Pro enthusiasts, we've preserved the original design and performance that made the Porta Pro a portable music icon. Today the Porta Pro remains the headphone of choice for the discriminating listener. Designed for those with refined musical acuity, the Porta Pro continues to be the most requested headphone at koss.com.

The Porta Pro features dynamic elements that deliver exceptionally rich, deep bass and a remarkably wide frequency response from 15-25,000 Hz to capture every nuance in your favourite movie or musical performance. Constructed from mylar, the elements are extremely rigid, minimizing mechanical distortion and ensuring exceedingly accurate sound reproduction. Neodymium iron boron rare earth magnet structures enable the Porta Pro to deliver greater volume so you can hear every note, even when competing against the sounds of a commuter train with a low-voltage MP3 or disc player. Oxygen free copper voice coils improve signal transmission and conduction for cleaner, clearer sound. Foam earcushions provide an open, hear-through sound that lets you keep in touch with your surroundings. Perfect to wear while running, at work, or while traveling.

It will be the best £17.99 you have ever spent, these are seriously good headphones especially at the money, they have fantastic bass and sound great all round, i bought my first pair over 10yrs ago they cost £50 back then and i have been recomending them to everyone since, they are ideal for your ipod/mp3 players and are easily driven with a sensitivity rating of 101db, they also come with a large jack adapter to plug into your hifi should you want to, nothing else comes close to the porta pro's i have tried and heard lots of headphones over the years and these especially at the money will blow you away, you will hear instruments and depth of bass with clarity from music you never heard before you have to hear these headphones to believe them and honestly you will never look back they are that good.

have a look how they rated there:

Koss PortaPro

A very worthy mention in this category is the inexpensive, but high performance, Koss PortaPro headband headphone. The Portapro has incredibly been in production since the 1980's, which definitely shows in the retro styling. We love the way the PortaPro's sound and can definitely recommend them as an upgrade from the cheap standard headphones supplied with an iPod, MP3 player, laptop/PC, portable CD/DVD/MiniDisc player, or portable radio.

The headphone fit is very good, thanks to the headband that has extra supports which sit just above your ear. The Koss PortaPro's are perfect for active listeners. If you like the retro look of the open back PortaPro they are excellent value (RRP of £39.99) and are ideal for listening on the move.

It says headset so i thought they were an actual headset ie a mic as well, but theyre not

Best headphones your gonna get anywhere near this price. I have both these and px100's and for me these win hands down. Obvioulsy theres not much in it, but for me a much more comfortable balanced sound with slightly more bass. But they are both excellent headphones. These are also open back, so if your next to someone on the bus/train, they are gonna hear everything you listen to. However, it also means a more natural sound as the waves don't bounce back like they do on closed back heaphones (or something like that) I use them for walking the dog daily, so I am still aware of my surroundings. You may look like a retro throwback from the 80's but you will have better sound than the dude wearing expensive skullcandy's standing next to you.

Of course IMHO :)

Great headphone, bought, thanks.

These are really good, I have a pair that I keep at work. The design means they fit really well if you wear glasses. They're really compact and whilst lightweight mine have never broken (although I don't take them around with me which would be the real test!)

The bassier the better in my opinion. I LOVE my PortaPros, and they're £17.99 on both Play and Amazon at the moment.

A question, how do I use the Koss Lifetime Warranty? The wiring/connection has gone and they need replaced (and that's with everyday use, over a year).

Edit: Ok, this link may help anyone in my shoes http://www.koss.com/koss/kossweb.nsf/dist?openform&United Kingdom
