And amazon generally have the best customer service/fast and free delivery/don't have to travel down to your nearest argos store with one today/tomorrow
I don't disagree with you; but I do believe it is good to think about these things, especially if, with the minimum of effort/inconvenience we can help UK businesses/workers, as opposed to foreign ones it surely must be better for Britain

Im sure amazon employ a fair few people, plus they deliver things so they are probably almost single handedly keeping company's like yodel etc afloat.

True but Apple are a Trade name manufacturing goods which we can still buy from uk taxpaying businesses.. Amazon mainly sell other manufacturers goods which can also be bought elsewhere. So all I'm saying if its the same price why not support British, and use British employing/ taxpaying companies even if the parent company is a foreign one
Hadn't really thought about that before. Is there any sites that give a balanced view on this sort of thing? I guess Amazon pay some tax surely?
No they transfer price out all business to Luxembourg declaring their UK and other country stores as "distribution outlets".

What about the staff members working in the UK distribution centres? They pay tax through PAYE surely?

Got starscream and ratchet at the same time, alreadys have bumblebee (£15 fromSmyths) to complete the set for the lad. Xmas presents early, what a pro :)

Free delivery with Amazon is a risk because you are put behind someone who pays 1st class delivery, they have total disregard to first come first service.
Argos have highstreet shops with a counter customer service to collect and return goods with a satisfaction guarantee of 30days. Amazon cannot compete with this so your comment is unjustified especially considering that Argos employs UK citizens and pays all kinds of taxes to UK HMRC.
