I used to sell Krug Baumen watches to workmates/friends of friends etc, when I was a student at college.
I used to get them for £20-£30 a pop and used to sell them for £50 for a decent gents one.
The watches are good for the money, and it helps to flog them if you have a stupidly high price tag £400 etc attached in a nice box. ;-)

Blatant rip off of the Cartier Tank Francaise...

As I remember these watches were sold by 'salesmen' returning from a 'conference' who had 'samples' leftover (they would normally corner you as you walked into a bank). The accompanying literature quoted them as RRP £600+ (make any figure you like up) and were featured in publications like in-flight mags and BMW owner type of thing. All very pukka and not illegal however these watches are worth nothing like the inflated prices originally quoted.

I bought one of this make of watch a while back. I would say they are overpriced at the so called bargain price, the one i had had a plated brass case to look like stainless steel, if you get a bad a scratch you can see the brass underneath.

Buy one of these instead

Definately more than twice the price (if you have an original).

Which I do, the Seamaster is a fantastic watch although at £200 for servicing they aint cheap

Very helpful! Not!

You get what you pay for. I have one which looks superb. However, the silverplating on the case is so thin that I easily scratched it to reveal a darker metal underneath. It has spoiled the appearance. Great marketing though, but a waste of money.

I have a Seiko Kinetic Titanium, but that doesn't mean it isn't nice to have a few cheap dressy watches to wear sometimes. KBs are adaquate for that purpose. Just don't get suckered into believing that you are buying a £230 watch for an eighth of that. You pay £30, you get £30 worth of timepiece. But they keep good time, so I have no complaints.

Who uses a watch these days??? I haven't had a watch for years and don't feel the need for one - my mobile phone tells me the time.

Hi biglugs1.

As yu say a watch isnt really a requirement these days as far as telling the time goes, However many prople enjo wearing watches as fashion/dress accesories, much in the same way as cufflinks are not nessesarry given that buttons work perfectly well.

I think I will stick with my £2.99 Lidl masterpiece of engineering that keeps perfect time, has a 3 year warranty, water resistant to 30 metres, mineral glass etc. etc.

:)
