was just about to post this deal, my parents are getting me one for christmas, i'm a happy bunny! have some heat!
#3
Whats the coffee like (is it as good as Nespresso?) and how much are the pods?
#4
Cheers. I'm very tempted to get this too! Amazon are also selling this, delivered, at the same price, but it seems that you can only get the black one at this price. I would personally go for the red. Also, with Argos you get a free coffee starter pack... not sure if you get this as standard with the product with all retailers or if it's just Argos, but a good deal IMO in any case!

A quick search on amazon tells me that you can get a pack of 16 capsules (cappucino, espresso, mocha, machiatto, hot chocolate) for under a fiver. I haven't tried it myself, as I'm not big on coffee, but thought some caffeineheads out there might appreciate this deal!

where do you buy the pods from? just had a look on asda online and i cant find them.

https://www.dolce-gusto.co.uk/EN/Service/Pages/dealerlocator.aspx - that will show you all of the places you can buy them. I have a tesco, asda and morrison nearby that sells them.

I ordered it from Amazon. I ordered the ivory colour and it does come with the 16 pods. I've checked and Sainsbury's have a limited selection- think it was Cappucino. I thought that the pods were expensive, but if you buy a lot of coffee out then I don't think the price is that bad.

you can go on their website (dolce-gusto.co.uk) and click on dealer locator to see which places near you sell them. i have a tesco, asda and morrisons that sell them near me.

you can get 16 hot chocolate (and other e.g. machiatto, espresso) pods at £4.75 from amazon... there is a delivery charge but I suppose that could be minimised by ordering in bulk.

my wife bought one of these - its garbage...broke down after 4 months moderate use and makes grim coffee..im getting a decent coffee machine in the sales but itill be alot more expensive

grim but if you want decent coffee the better machines are more expensive >£500

Ours has just broken but has lasted 2 years. We had vouchers from Asda magazine and ended up with a lot of boxes of free pods, so it was a good deal at the time. I only drink hot chocolate which is ok, but my family drink the Latte macchiato and say it really is lovely. ;-)

I have a Dolce Gusto and would not be without it. My two daughters and Aunt bought one after using mine. Pods readily available from Tesco, Asda etc

not in the same league - but if you enjoy a 'sweeter' coffee then go for it - i have a nespresso machine (2 actually) and i also have the dolche gusto one too i use the nespresso one for the weekend and when i have guests and the dolche one all the other time

how do you get the vouchers - can you still get them?!

Has anyone compared one of these to a tassimo? I like the look of this one, but like the sound of milka/starbucks pods.
#22
ive used a tassimo and i found that the water didnt make as hot a coffee as the dolche gusto one
#23
Thanks, ordered the black one for collection.

I was looking for a coffee machine and was tempted to order the Gaggia that was posted last week but the reviews were dreadful. Glad I waited, there's a 2 year guarantee with this one and it's not a bad price for a piece of 'Art' in your kitchen which also makes decent coffee. The reviews on Argos are generally very good.

these are around £97 in-store in currys, so get then to price match, plus 10% extra to get one for around £60

yea, i've read reviews about the tassimo and most of them are quite negative. while most reviews about the dolce gusto are far from glowing, the general consensus seems to be that this is a decent coffee maker, and i reckon it's a good deal at this price, with a 2 year warranty. imho, this looks fantastic too... very stylish and classy.
