Out of interest when/where are pods on offer? I've rarely seen any on genuine pods apart from occasionally free delivery on orders of 100 instead of the usual 200, or sometimes 1 free box with big orders in the nespresso boutique.

Genuine aren't on offer to be fair, but the market is so open now for off-brand ones there are some *really* good cheaper alternatives. See Amazon, eBay and your local supermarket too.

Also £65 at John Lewis ( 2 year warranty) with 16 free capsules and a code for a free aeroccino if you order 150 capsules from Nespresso website
#4
Even for the Debenhams one, you have to buy the pods to get the aerocino

Lidl sell non genuine pods in store 10 for £1.79, 3 flavours to choose from including the lunge versions. They don't taste too bad but still not a patch on the genuine one.

I promise I'm not trolling and this is a genuine question. I have always used a cafetiere and only had coffee from a pod machine while waiting to collect my car from being serviced. The coffee from that was truly vile.
Why does anyone want to buy a machine which ties you into a prespecified range of environmentally wasteful pods?

whereever you buy it? Or just if you buy it from John Lewis? As i'd rather buy from amazon with prime if that's the case.

a lot of it is convenience, what machine did you use while waiting for your car? Because machines that take cartridges have been around years and vary a lot.

I like cafetiere coffee, prefer freshly ground to pre ground - unless its super fresh.

im using starbucks pods, you can buy the sampler pods, 40 for about 11.50 (4 different flavours), free delivery with this item and other 50 pack pods

they seem good, i am happy as they have foil on the top and little foil at the bottom so they do get pierced properly and do not damage the machine

hope this helps

What's the link to the ones you use? I've been using one for about 5 years and I'll be honest I do try the cheapo capsules too :D

Amazingly even award winning baristas that I've met have said to me that it has it's place in the kitchen. I was surprised. And I've lived in Colombia next to the best coffee "factory" in Colombia (according to coffee peers over there) The beans of course from the local Fincas (farms) and then processed *as in selected etc and roasted in the factory. Was fascinating.

Buy from anywhere ..it's the latest nespresso offer ..get a machine ..order 150 pods off site and claim aerocino ...comes to around £112 ish in total ..which isn't bad considering a machine an frothier would cost you more than that normally and you get 150 official nespresso pods which are far superior to some of the ones mentioned in thread .

Thanks to the responders. Sorry, I can't recall what the machine was at the garage; it looked new and I'll note the make next time. They charge enough for servicing my car I would have expected hand crafted coffee served on a silver tray, accompanied by petits fours coated with gold leaf and a small glass of Armagnac.
Funnily enough, I've got a good Colombian friend and his views on pod machines are unprintable in a family website like this.
Of course, the rubbish bin is a place in the kitchen, but I suspect that isn't what dlo247 baristas meant!
I shall try to open up my mind a bit, but perhaps not my wallet.

Best kitchen gadget I've ever purchased. Nespresso genuine pods are head and shoulders above the compatible ones.

Did you just get these in store? Are they called something special? I looked recently but couldn't tell if they were compatible with nespresso or not.

The pods are infinitely recyclable now, and they even collect your old pods. (You do have to bag them up and gather a few for that to happen)

i got them from a tesco extra £3 box of 10, same price as nespresso pods online, but delivery isn't free unless you buy 200, Starbucks online and tesco are the only two places you can get them, I haven't been in Starbucks recently so I am not sure they sell them.

take a look at the Starbucks website, click on shop it'll give you a idea what the boxes look like, tesco online have them too.

hope this helps.

#24
