For anyone who cares, this deal is live now.

I was about to sigh and roll my eyes as ive just purchased a lock and cable only a few days ago. Kryptonite is a good manufacturer but this is one of their budget models and easily compromised. A better deal is the Onguard Bulldog with cable for £16.99 from Amazon with free delivery:

Oh and Im still sighing and rolloing my eyes as this combo cost me £22 only a couple of days ago :(

I had one of these. I aslo had a GT Arrow Head.

Not sure if that's a negative comment about the lock or a compliment to the efficiency of the thieves at Lewisham station. But I would say my bike was OK but nothing that special.

Look to have some ok deals on bikes as well (did see a thread on here the other day but seems to have disappeared).

    For Example:

Giant CRS 3.0 FS for £249.99 (RRP £349.99), cheapest I found elsewhere was £274.99, and most places were more.

Loads of other price cuts on 09 bikes as well, but many are limited on what sizes are available...

Keeping this to myself at the moment until I have purchased my bike but as poster above says - 09 prices are decent on other bikes :)

The Onguard is a "sold secure" bronze, this is a silver. Makes little difference build wise I guess, but it helps with the insurance.

Nonsense as mentioned above plus only £500 Guarantee where as this deal is £800

You do have to be careful with edinburghbicycle.com, most stock is given to customers in the brick and mortar stores - the sites stock is not realtime and is allocated a few hours later, often when all the good stuff is long gone.
    bargainhunter666
I went to the store (should have placed an order online and cancelled later if not needed) to check frame size and feel of bike. 4 instore. Went to pay and salesmen said "slight problem, no stock of your size" They had therefore sold 40+ Rockhoppers in less than 2hrs.

Still had twenty or so of the locks.

The insurance is almost worthless as to claim it you have to send them the broken lock , often the thief takes the lock as well or if they leave it on the floor, kids would have taken it.

Good point and the exact same point I made to the guy in the shop before I purchased it.
    CutPricePete
Yes, that insurance IS worthless, but the sold secure is used by all good bike insurance companies, such as cycleguard etc. It limits the amount you can claim back.

cool so i can buy something to kill superman. He is a lame superhero after all

Can anyone explain why, wherever you go in Britian, there is about half a bike chained to a post???
Has the rest of the bike been stolen or removed by the owner as it's removable??? Why did the owner leave the bits left and the lock?

As far as locks go, I just get a £1 cable lock do discourage thieves. Anyone more serious is not gonna be bothered with my bike.

When you say half a bike that probably means the owners taken the quick release bits with him, ie: saddle & wheels, or some thieving ba***** has had em;-)

Incorrect. The Onguard is Sold Secure Silver. I have one myself.

Back up to 34.99 now, so I have expired the deal.

If the price comes back down, please unexpire and would appreciate a heads up as I am looking for a lock for my new bike ;)
