In many cases bike was stolen in a matter of seconds.
Still prefer to spend 40+ to be sure I will not loose my 300+ bike
Or if you want a sold secure gold rated lock, there's also a good deal on the long shackle version of the oxford magnum at decathlon :-

Dunno, but I recently bought the Kryptonite New york 3000, and amazon sent me the latest model which has been rebranded as the New York STD oO

I'd pay the extra £4.18 to get the kryptonite evolution or oxford lock as they get better reviews and are more resistant to being cut.

Exactly. It's about comparing the price of the lock and the cost of your bike with the guaranteed payout from the manufacturer if your bike gets stolen (in my eyes, anyway).
Bicycle locks are all about making it more difficult for a thief and (hopefully) not worth their time/risk).
They'll only cover the purchase price of the bike less Vat, and only then if the theif is kind enough to leave the broken lock behind.
Then I hope for your sake there aren't any stationers nearby that stock these.
Or if it's a stubbon cable lock, any budding gardening enthusiasts with one of these in the cupboard.

Where did you get that from, or are you making that up? I only needed to provide proof of purchase for both bike and lock and got a full refund on my Triban 3.
Dammit, I came here to make a Superman joke!
