Product Review
Release Date: 06 October 2008

A Clockwork Orange:
Stomping, whomping, singing, tap-dancing, violating. Derby-topped hooligan Alex (Malcolm McDowell) has a good time - at the tragic expense of others. His journey from amoral punk to brainwashed proper citizen and back again forms the dynamic arc of Stanley Kubrick's future-shock vision of Anthony Burgess' novel. Controversial when first released, A Clockwork Orange won New York Film Critics Best Picture and Director awards and earned four Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. Its power still entices, shocks and holds us in its grasp.

2001: A Space Odyssey:
2001: A Space Odyssey is a countdown to tomorrow, a road map to human destiny, a quest for the infinite. It is a dazzling, Academy Award winning visual achievement, a compelling drama of men vs. machine, a stunning meld of music and motion. To begin his voyage into the future, Kubrick visits our prehistoric ape-ancestry past, then leaps millennia (via one of the most mind-blowing jump cuts ever conceived) into colonised space, and ultimately whisks astronaut Bowman (Keir Dullea) into uncharted realms of space, perhaps even into immortality.

Full Metal Jacket:
A superb ensemble cast falls in for action in Stanley Kubrick's brilliant saga about the Vietnam War and the dehumanizing process that turns people into trained killers. Joker, Animal Mother, Gomer, Eightball, Cowboy and more - all plunged into bootcamp hell pitbulled by a leatherlung D.I. (Lee Ermey). The action is savage, the story unsparing, the dialogue spiked with scathing humour. Full Metal Jacket, from its rigours of basic training to its nightmare of combat in Hue City, scores a cinematic direct hit.

great deal.
great deal.

I'm sure we won't have to wait too much longer for the Kubrick haters (_;)

Three great films, if you haven't got them - what have you been doing with your life? - buy them now.
Great films, not their best editions, even for DVD. And if there is a fifty year old film that you should get on Blu-Ray, it's certainly 2001, it looks amazing.
