DVB-T Ready! With KWorld’s DVB-T 300U TV Box, you can watch the Digital Terrestrial TV with your ordinary UHF/VHF antenna. You will be amazed how your ordinary UHF/VHF antenna can be so powerful. DVB-T 300U TV Box is a digital terrestrial television receiver box which allows users to access free-to-air digital terrestrial TV and radio signals using UHF/VHF antenna. DVB-T 300U can be used to record TV programs directly to your PC's hard disk in MPEG-2 format. You are in control! With the TVR application, you can pause live TV, record,
and continue from where you left while watching current TV with the Time-Shifting technology. Schedule Recording function allows users not to miss any TV show, especially it provides a powerful function -
S.R.P.O. (Schedule Recording in PC Power-Off Mode) Create your own Movie! Convert any video file from avi, mpeg, etc with MPEG Converter and then edit your favorite video files with MPEG Editor. Finally, make a copy of the edited clips onto DVD/VCD/SVCD with Burn DVD. DVB-T 300U also includes a fully featured Infrared Remote Control which allows users to access every feature with a simple press of a button,
especially shutting down PC via remote control.

Good price :) Delivery to add though...

I wonder if it does exactly as it says?

Thanks ;)

What do you mean rayman? It sounds like every other DVB-T tuner out there?

I think a lot of the DVB-T sticks often need a better aerial, but a lot will depend on where you're using it...

Ah, I see, what defines a UHF/VHF Antenna, I thought they meant the one on top of your house, are you saying they mean any old little ariel?

Oh, and good post rommy!

I am guessing this is basically a external digital (freeview) tv card.
#6
That's what I meant :) It probably does mean the one on top of your house tohugh. We have an ordinary roof top aerial and it picks up Freeview perfectly well. Although I had to upgrade the coaxial to digital from indoor wall socket to make it as good as it is.

It sounds that way to me too the.capt...

Yeah, you'd expect for £34 (original Price) they'd have put a Scart socket or S-Video connector on it though.

How's that? (We have a basic aerial wire coming into the house from the roof that just runs along the floor to the TV, although we don't use it since we got Cable years ago).

I agree, my pc tv tuner needed another ariel, the one you got with it is not good enough.

That' what others have mentioned with them.

Sorry, I'm a bit confuzzled, when you say old Coaxial, do you mean the one that connects to your rooftop aerial?
If so, at what point did you have to replace it from Coax to Digital, at the point where it comes into the house from the roof or from somewhere else in the house?

Apologies if I'm sounding obtuse.

#13
Ah... From where it comes into the house at the wall socket.
#14
This is the one that did the trick!

From having a look around it looks like these might not be such a great deal... the software sounds like it might be a bit rubbish, and they don't seem to work with Windows Media Centre or any of the other Media Centre type software around (have a look at http://www.pcpro.co.uk/shopper/reviews/85141/kworld-dvbt-300u.html or http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=859).

Does anyone here have one of these?
#16
Is it possible to use different software for watching the programs and viewing the EPG??

I have a freecom usb stick and it works fine and has quite good software...I am thinking of buying this for another PC and wondered whether the freecom software would work with this model???
#18
I have the freecom model, my brother has a different make of tv stick, his software is not as good as mine, he tried to use freecom software but it won't function on his tv stick.

http://www.kworld.com.tw/en/kworld/body/Products/Digital/DVB-T300U.htm

if you look at the list of the features, it says

Additional AV/ S-Video Input for connecting other
video sources. (such as DVD Player/ VCD/ VHS/ Camcorder

can someone confirm that?. also they have released new software for this tuner which is supposed to fix many of the problems.
#20
It's a good price but I personally wouldn't put much faith in any USB tv devices. IMHO, USB isn't designed for this kind of consistent high bandwidth (unlike firewire) and you may encounter stuttering over long periods of use.

My friend has the smaller KWorld dongle with just freeview and that really doesn't like power management but otherwise fine for casual use and at this price a bargain.

sorry to report that the only connecting socket on it is the "aerial in"
