This product will be amazing for the kids or big kids/adults

If you or your precious offspring are obsessed with a certain bespectacled boy wizard, you'll no-doubt already have wands lying about the house. This one, however, is totally different to anything you will have waggled before - it can control the telly. In fact, it can control most things that require a remote control, making its wielder appear to be able to perform some pretty incredible leisure-orientated magic tricks, and you won't even need to spout gibberish spells to do it.
After you've learnt the basics (it takes a few practice sweeps to get the hang of it), you'll be able to programme your wand to control the volume, channel, brightness or whatever your remote can do. A turning motion (it's all in the wrist) will control the volume, a sweep up or down will move the channel forward or back a step, and even double-tapping on the side will perform whatever you assign it. In all there are 13 different swooshes, sweeps and swoops to learn, and each one can be given a separate task to complete. All you have to do is put your wand into 'learning mode' by giving it a quick tap on the shaft, perform the move you want, and then press the corresponding key on your remote - the wand remembers it and performs it next time you do the same move.
It's difficult to emphasise how much fun this is, and how cool the effect is when you're merrily commanding all and sundry around you. The Hi-Fi, the TV, the computer, the lights (if you're fancy enough to have remote control lights), anything that needs flicking on or off in the room can be controlled by a wave of your wand. Indeed, if you're even slightly interested in anything vaguely wizard-related then you owe it to yourself to get one of these - great fun, ingenious technology and an impressive effect. Top it off with a beautiful faux-dragonskin box with Chinese silk inlay and you've got a superb little package, perfect for the wannabe wizard in your life.

Waste of Time. A Remote control is cheaper and does more. You could buy a Harmony Remote for this money.
#8
Correct, the guy who designed this also designed the see through blue liquid crystal remote control that sold thousands

This reminds me of voice activated dialing on a mobile phone: ie: You look like a right jerk!

I could use it to scratch my a*se but I suppose the resultant **** on the end would cover the IR transmitter thus rendering the remote useless.

Bad design if you ask me!

(Sorry - PLAY MOVIE) ???

I genuinely can't believe they invested in this! It has all the makings of a one Christmas wonder/carboot fodder.

I look forward to getting one of these next summer at Exeter Carboot Sale for a quid. Possibly with a DVD thrown in. And a packet of playing cards. And maybe some change. And a battery.

£43.94 isn't exactly in the money to burn category really compared to all the £400+ TV's advertised here. In fact it is but pocket money. I do believe I left that amount in my cravat the last time my manservant used a wand to change the vision box in the corner of my drawing room.

Sounds like a good reason not to get one. Just what you want, the kids p*ssing about with the remote all the time.
#31
I don't understand the appeal personally. You point it at the screen (not unlike the remote you have already), and it houses only very basic functions, so surely you'd only be reaching for the original remote in the first place?

Just a waste of money even at 40 quid you wont get your monies worth out of it.

Everyone is really negative. Am I the only one wanting to but one of these?? My 5 yeta old son wants a real Harry potter wand for Christmas. I showed him this and he thinks it is fantastic even after I explained it won't turn anyone into a frog. Great deal as you could only buy them direct with no discounts until I saw this

This is a fun product that fits the "I don't knowe what to buy somebody" niche....these guys already sold over 10,000 units before they even entered the den.
