You think ROCKSTAR has gone out of business? I don't think so. GTA5 is out soon

I think he's talking about team bondi
Don't expect gta, and you'll be fine, the game has a great story line.

Awesome, I shall leave my expectations at the door :)
Just can't be bothered playing through the whole story again to get the extra missions.

Yeah, he said the company that MADE it (i.e. Team Bondi, the developer), not the company that PUBLISHED it.

Yeah, didn't team bondi have a massive walkout due to some hitler-style treatment by the ceo? google it. that's why i wont buy the game

You don't have to play the game through to do them, just go into the separate case files on the option screen, like I mentioned earlier the storylines only vaguely tie in with the main story, if at all, so it wouldn't require you to go through the whole game again!

I'm not sure about the details, but I think basically Team Bondi's management of the project was a complete mess (it ended up taking 7 years to make) and Rockstar had to keep stepping in to sort things out and pour more money into it. After the game was released, Team Bondi sold off all the rights to the games they own and the company was liquidated - they were in debt, including owing their staff wages. Rockstar now have sole rights to L.A. Noire, so if there's ever a sequel they'll get to hire another developer, or develop it themselves.
But anyway, my point was - there's a difference between the developer and publisher of a game. Sometimes companies do both, so just because there's a Rockstar logo on there doesn't mean it was developed by them. Rockstar are more popular/well known than Team Bondi, so that was a selling point, and I think just because it was a sandbox game with cars, people assumed it was going to be exactly like GTA except for being set in the '40s, then they were disappointed when they realised it was an atmospheric, procedural police drama and you couldn't run people over (that easily), which was kind of missing the point.
This is a good price for the complete edition. I've got a 10% Zavvi voucher, and with 5% Quidco I could get this for just over £15. But considering I could get the normal edition for around £10 on eBay, are the extra missions worth £5?
I too put it down after a few hours, but only because I haven't had the time to 'emerse' myself, but I'll definitely want to finish it once my brain reaches a "I want to concentrate whilst playing a game today!" mode.
Good game though, and the extra cases fit in nicely. Not too fussed about the extra weapons though, as I haven't needed any extra firepower besides my trusty pistol yet!
