I read somewhere that Gamestation are still doing £30 trade-in so finish it quick and sell on!

I've completed the game and DLC as it stands and as I bought the online pass at half price I feel obliged to wait for the remaining DLC. 1200 gamerscore....finding and driving all the cas was really fun...not!

I'm going to they release a full pack of all the DLC and game.

Finding the cars was an absolute joke wasn't it? 80% of them all looked the same anyway ffs!!

Disliked this game. Too much pointless driving as filler not enough of the good stuff.

I felt very empty after playing this. It is not a game it is a film or something and you have to fill the bits in when they tell you. There is next to zero gaming involved

At least it had more gameplay than Heavy Rain, not that that is saying much.

very tempting offer something you can't resist and the price is a good one

Get your partner to drive. No pointless driving at all then...but no street crimes.

I was going to say this. I ordered from them and with Quidco it came to about £25. Amazing price for this game which is just awesome.
#14
I found it the most boring game i've played for years. Got halfway through and just couldn't face anymore so got rid of it.
#15
Personally really enjoyed the game, finished it so traded it in ASDA on monday for £25 so not bad as only paid £30 for it. Lots of entertainment for £5 !

same as others...I got bored halfway through...got rid of it. Each to their own I suppose.

Love this game. Think some people are too used to Rockstar games only containing mindless violence and little need to think.

Still on the third disc as I haven't had time to play it lately. I bought this at £30 last month, £29 is a good price.

I'd far rather use Amazon than PriceMinister even if it was a £5 saving.

wow mixed reviews on the game im going to wait then as most of you seem to think its boring....roll on saints row the third..a real game :D

This will go even cheaper in a few weeks.

Not sure about that, Rockstar games tend to hold their value.

As for the game itself, i've got mixed feelings on it too. As much as the animation, in particular the facial features is excellent, the game itself is way too linear and repetitive. Too much of getting from A-B, investigate crime scene, interogate suspects/interview people and that's about it. I reckon once i've completed it it'll be on my list to trade/sell.

Perhaps maybe i too expected more of a sandbox style game in the vein of GTA but it's nothing like that. It's a 7/10 game for me, at best.

Surely it's not meant to be in the vein of GTA.

People go mental for Fallout, but all you do is walk from A to B and shoot something that looks strange. Then you rescue someone. Then you fast travel back because you're bored. If you're lucky you go underground... Where you shoot something. Etc.

But in Fallout, Oblivion etc. your actions have consequences that affect the rest of the story. None of that in LA:N.

I found it very boring. I'm at the end of disc 2 and it's so damn linear. You have to do things in exactly the order the game designers want, and the truth/doubt/lie questions are pretty silly and don't even make sense half the time.

Also Cole Phelps's reactions are often completely out of kilter to the responses he receives - example

Were you at home last night ma'am?

No.

DON'T LIE TO ME YOU OLD FAT HAG!

Er.. ok, yes I was at home.

Thank you ma'am, you've been most cooperative.

After games like Mass Effect, playing this felt like I was wearing a straightjacket. It has its roots in the adventure games of 20 years ago - and it shows.

Also this price is not that hot. It was available for this price on release day.

this game only sold because it was published by rockstar and we expected a bit of GTAIV / RDR style gameplay combined with some investigation work but instead we just got a tedious and repetitive take on heavy rain. there is really very little gameplay, its just a big stop and start movie.

I just watched the ending on YouTube and even that is rubbish.

Still on LINK but nonetheless this is still a decent price and added my wee blast of heat but £2 cheaper at Gzoop / Priceministe

Im afraid im also in the boring game camp. If you want to play a game that is more like a movie great but if you want an action game steer well clear. Don't think that it's going to be anything like a GTA game, it's not supposed to be. I rented it from lovefilm and sent it back within two days as I just couldnt bring myself to push on with it.

PS3 version is better in 3 ways:

1) Graphics - 360 looks terrible by comparison (less detail!)
2) Performance - PS3 loads faster and runs more consistently.
3) Discs - PS3 = 1 disc.

Not sure about that, Rockstar games tend to hold their value.

You mean GTA games hold their value. Midnight Clubs, Manhunts, Table Tennis none of them did.

This is straight adventure game with no multiplayer, that's sold really well (i.e. a lot of copies in the wild) it'll not take long.

Going to fly in the face of popular opinion (on here at least) and say I'm loving the game. It has engaged me more than any of the GTA games and even more than Red Dead, which I also found felt to be a more immersive experience than GTA.

I think that if you play this anticipating a sandbox kill-a-thon, then you will be disappointed. If however, you are looking for an atmospheric period adventure, then this will tick those boxes. I applaud the developers for putting such a fine experience together.

£30 trade in at Gamestation.
£28 credit, £23 cash at HMV.

I took the Gamestation option, 20 minutes ago.

I enjoyed the game overall, took a bit of persistence to continue at the halfway stage as it got a bit repetitive, but glad I stuck with it and finished the story.
