Los Angeles guitar is basically a Strat copy with the same 3 x single coil arrangement and trem.

People will come on and make the usual comment about cheap guitars put people off get a Pacifica blah blah. Yes, Pacificas are great and can be had used for this kind of price. However, recently the quality of Chinese guitars has shot up and I've seen loads that set up and play really nicely. So don't write this one off on an old dogma, it could be quite good.

Thanks. Im looking around for an affordable guitar for my 14 yr old to start with. This seems OK and not too expensive if he loses interest :)

I think the Peavey raptor at £65 is probably a much better guitar. The Peavey AT200 (auto tunes but can turn this off) at £120 is better still if they still have them in stock as it's based on the Predator. I have just bought an AT200 and it's a good guitar, and have played a Raptor and although it is lighter and feels cheaper it is a very playable, low action guitar.

Another great guitar is the Epiphone Genesis at Andertons for £219 including case - we bought this too, and it is a quality guitar, lovely tone, though a bit heavy for a beginner.

The Roland cube 10w amp is about £70-80 and a great amp with lots of built in effects. Highly recommended.

Can I ask where your getting the 10w cube for 70-80? Looking for one and can't see one anywhere at that price range.....

It was at Costco Trafford Park about 5 weeks ago. Could be my memory, but was pretty sure they were around that price. Cheapest I can find after a quick look now is £95 at GuitarGuitar.

The Fender Mustang v2 20w amp at Gear4music for £91 is an amp that seems to get good reviews from users too.

Yeah I posted the Costco deal a few weeks ago but it was the 3w cube gx version they had. Wouldn't mind a 10w version for the same money

Apologies all - we def bought it at Costco so must have been the smaller version. It's not in the house now so can't check.
