Complete installation kit for free-to-air satellite TV. Receive up to 1000 digital TV channels.

* Hundreds of Free Channels
* Potentially Receive 1,000s of Foreign Stations
* Digital Satellite Receiver with Auto-Tuning
* 60cm Dish for Good Reception Countrywide
* CAI Approved PF100 Digital Ready Cable

Digital satellite receiver with automatic tuning, remote control, satellite dish, digital LNB with mount, tilting dish bracket, wall bracket, right angled pole, 10m PF100 cable, 2 x F connectors, weather boot, cable clips, full instructions.

It's been posted before but now even cheaper.
Seems a good deal for a full basic kit. Could be used as a starter kit for freesat and to get a dish set up in preparation for when you buy an HD receiver! If you haven't got a SKY dish already. Attached a couple of vouchers for "10% off a £50 spend" (not sure if current) so try to add a few bits to make it up to £50 to use the voucher and get free delivery.

You get free to air satellite channels.

Could be good for all you campers out there. Sort of on the same subject, if you have sky you can cancel your subscription and pay £20 for a decoder card which gives you the free to air channels. Does anybody have this and can they please tell me if you still get the sky EPG and can you still record if you have the sky plus box??

You only get the Sky+ functionality if you continue to pay them £10 a month for the privilege. :)

Did they not get rid of the subscription fee for Sky+ last June?

Lot longer ago than that - but only if you remain a Sky customer.

They waive the £10 sky+ fee ONLY if you have a sky subscription (i.e. one of their packages).

The dish is to small & the receiver is prob. nothing special.
You really need an 80cm dish or better yet 1m or 1.2m - depending where in the country you are.
#11
Some of the reviews on that site say that the screws provided arent strong enough.

To answer the person who asked if this could get you the Saturday PL games, no it wont, you will need a much bigger dish, and specialist received i would assume, and then a sub to something like True Sports or another European provider of PL games.
#12
Going by the info above ,this is only a basic system , ideally for picking up FTA services from the many sats in the sky . If there is no card slot or CAM [Conditional Access Module] slot , theres no upgrading provision [I wouldn't expect it to have for £40] , so you wont be able to watch the footy by using digi card or whatever unless it's broadcast in the clear .

u need a motorised satellite dish with a reciever like technomate to pick up all the epl foreign sport channels heres a good forum helping you if you ever want to set it up http://abadss.com/

no you dont, but it certainly helps ;o)

A fixed dish with a monoblock for E19 & E13 will pick up a lot, including Sky Italia, Nova, Premiere, Canal+, etc. - you obviously wont get DigitalALB 16E or C+ W1
#15
and you wouldnt pick up any of those channels free with out a sub or access to cardsharing :)

I had this setup in a rental house 1 year ago. The channels you get are not the same as freeview or freesat (which is what this deal is about). Some channels, for example Dave, are not available through Sky's subscription free service. Also, although you get the Sky EPG it continues to display the 300+ channels you can no longer view, which is annoying.

It may be that Sky now matches the channels, but they used to block some as they were ordinarily only available as part of Sky's packages.

Would this be any good to use in Northern France to pick up basic Freeview programmes from the UK?
#18
I wondering if this set up is any good for freesat, has any one installed this and how easy was it to do and is the reciever any good?

Very Very easy providing you can mount it low on your property and have a good line of sight 28 degrees east of where your property faces south.

If any neighbouring walls or trees are causing problems for this though, then height is an issue for some (like me. hate heights) and maybe if not already owned can cost you buying a ladder etc etc, or paying for someone else to fit.

If you've already got Sky fitted and you begrudge paying subs, cancel them and get a Freesat card for £20. It should give you 180 channels of TV and Radio, by all accounts. (I haven't activated mine yet, as phones were too busy yesterday whilst everyone was off!).

You dont need to do this if you have a sky sub and cancel it, as when you cancel it the card turns into a FTV card

Yes, you are right. I cancelled Sky three years ago when I moved abroad. When I came back, the card still worked as FTV. The local engineer who was helping me out said that FTV is supposed to be that - Free. Apparently, Sky charge £20 as an "admin" fee to process the application and send out the card.
#27
On a slightly different note and apologies for digressing but I have sky+ with multi-room. If I cancel multi-room will I still have access to all the free view channels on what would be my ex-multiroom or will the box just not receive anything? I can't be bothered to wait 60 mins for Sky to answer my question!

No problem, don't want HD just a bog standard set up for freesat.

Does anyone know what model the reciever is, I assume it is Labgear?

Yep! The few remaining channels showing "free" Premier League are mostly on 1 west which would require a bigger dish than this one.

This was on offer last year at B&Q for £40.00 under the Philex brand (they now own Labgear).

The receivers look like some of the Topfield models i.e. TF6100F on http://www.topfield.co.kr/. But TopfieldTools does not work with it the one I bought, maybe due to different firmware.
#31
Help with installing the system from the Philex website. Maybe even the document they supply!
It's not that difficult to install. I have a 1m motorised system so a fixed one is easy.

http://technical.philex.com/downloads/Free%20to%20Air%20Satellite%20Installation%20instructions.pdf

The Philex site also shows a similar kit with what looks like a better picture of the receiver box.

I did not say it was a TF6100F, I said it looks similar, hence maybe manufactured by Topfield:x

If you look at the enlarged picture on the Screwfix site you'll see a Scart lead and video/phono leads (yellow, red and white plugs).
I guess it will have two Scart sockets but I'm not 100%. If anyone has bought it perhaps they will confirm.
#36
If its the same kit as one being sold on eBay then it has only one scart socket :-(
