Like op said if you spend 1p more you get free delivery. You would also get a free £10 voucher as well which you have already attached(if it is still valid) There was 1 posted for £40 at b&q the other week, sure somebody will point us in the right direction.
#3
You can also get triple nectar points if you use the Nectar eStore site.

Remembering that Screwfix were bought out by the B&Q Group, MIGHT even be the same one!

Wow when was this?

I never knew that and I work there!

FAIL

B&Q & Screwfix both owned by the Kingfisher Group...have been for years, get your facts right!

Screwfix bought by Kingfisher in 1999 btw....before then they were a private company

Great starter kit to the world of FTA, got one of these in the main room after receiving a "blocky" freeview for some years now, picture is fantastic plus the added channels are a bonus....R&H added:thumbsup:
#7
thanks
#8
Would this recieve the freesat channels if you had the freesat digibox?
#9
Does this come with a satellite aligning meter, or do you just point it at the same place the neighbours are and hope for the best?
#10
and does this pick up freesat HD channels
#11
So what sort of channels do you receive free with this kit then?

I take it you can't access the Sky service (meaning the free channels, BBC, ITV etc.) without a Sky card or is that not the case?
#12
Half the benefit of FreeSat for me is the HD channels. This isn't HD kit.

If it is the same one that is being sold on eBay #230309266128 then the auction description says:

SUITABLE FOR HOTBIRD, ASTRA 2A, 2B, 2D & EUROBIRD SATELLITES

I have no idea about that...not read it up but seems to complicated for a monday afternoon lol

Fae...Played CoD4 last night for the first time in like a month....may ba back on occasionally now brah if you wanna tag team some Yanks!
#17
Does this device pick up any foreign channels that show premier league games on weekends does anybody know?
#18
Here's the link to the B&Q one from last month.
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/264319/satellite-dish-and-receiver-over-22/
In that post, there's a link to an info site which lists the free-to-air channels you can receive. Having looked through the list, there's nothing you can get that I can't get with the Sky box I bought for a fiver off a car boot (fair enough, I already had a dish on the house).
The bonus with this is the ability to choose different satellites, and programmes from lots of countries.
BTW, phoned my local B&Q - their offer is long gone. Voted hot

Yes, But you can only point to 1 satellite at a time unless you buy a motorized kit, & then you spend most of your time flicking through the foreign satellites watching just as many adverts as you do in the UK.

So to start with point it to 28.2 degress East & watch everything not encrypted by Sky.

But it's not as easy to pick the correct satellite up at first.

You may find a strong signal & start scanning but find nothing. Thats probably because your pointing at a different satellite to the one you want. so always flick through different satellites in your list on receiver & scan.

sure, i be on tonight with some mates from work but you can join us ...... we go doing search and destroy as a team....... funny as hell cos the yanks complain about us cheating cos we all use the xbox live party thing to tell each other what to do

It will not get HD.
It will get all the Freesat stuff, so BBC/ITV/C4/C5/film4 etc
You will not get the sky stuff which is encrypted.

If you point it at 28E (which is the satellite cluster used by sky) then this is what is available : http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html

Everything with an 'F' in the 'system encryption' column is free to air - ie no card needed.

If you point it at another satellite then you can get european channels :http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/Europe.html
then choose the language you are after and look to see where you need to point the dish.
#22
Just looked at this & it's **** - do not buy !!

You need at least a 90cm dish & patched reciever to pick up anything worthwhile watching.

Spend an extra £100 & get all the footy & movie channels as well ;)
#23
Seems a bargain, comes with a standard 60cm dish which should pick up freesat
no problem.
#24
I take it this cannot pick up the dodgy footy channels found in some pubs on saturday afternoons
#25
Nope. See last post above. You can get the "dodgy" channels for about £180 all in though (receiver, 90cm dish with motor etc)

From where? Pm me if you know please.
#27
Google it mate, lots of places selling the kit.

If you get stuck, just check out Ebay !!

Are there any companies out there that could help with installation. I live in a flat so will have to ask the landlord first.

I doubt I could install it on my own as I don't even have any tools. How much might an installation guy charge to install it? I guess that's like asking how long is a peice of string?

mumbojumbo

You'll need this site: http://www.selkirkshire.demon.co.uk/analoguesat/paintingdishes.html

a dish this small will be no good for picking up any thing decent, like metioned above buy a better dish and box its well worth it, unless you just want something better then freeview then this would do the job fine, but dont think with this dish you will pick up anything worth installing it for as you wont

Other kits to consider especially if you are HD or foreign sats.
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=224740&source=1 or
motorised http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=224738
signed to the newletter for further discounts and there is quidco as well to consider.

Wrong time to be considering a Technomate, I have one Pre*iere and the French TP*S have moved over the Nagr*Vision 3, meaning currently black screens for these boxes for Premiership footie, the days of Nagr*vision 2 unscrambling are over :-(
#36
yea but nova will have prem footy from end of november again + digitalalb card or buy a technomate 9100 linux, but that may be a big leap for those just starting out

Thanks for that, probably my best option seeing I don't have a motorised setup just a monoblock on Hotbird and Astra 19E and doubtful I can pickup Galaxie on 1W as it needs a large dish. Rep left.
