First post - please be gentle.

Half price Freesat HD kit from Screwfix, including satellite dish, HD "free to air" receiver and all required cables.

I have a similar Bush box and its great, providing similar channels to Freeview and aso including BBC HD and ITV1 HD channels for free without subscription too.

Freeview HD is just out, so you can now buy HD Freeview boxes, but they are all currently a lot more than this.

I should have also added that they are rolling out iPlayer to Freesat and all HD Freesat receivers are meant to be designed to receive iPlayer via an ethernet broadband connection.

I can't find any info on this Labgear box, so can't confirm for definate that this box supports that but they've just rolled it out to my Bush HD Freesat box and its great to watch iPlayer on the main TV without having to connect up the PC to it.

I understand that ITV Catchup is also coming later.

are BBC HD and ITV Hd the only HD channels you can get? what about Channel 4 HD, E4 HD etc

BBC and ITV are all that are on Freesat at present. There are rumours of others coming to freesat but nothing confirmed. The others you would have to pay a Sky HD monthly subscription for.

For all I watch TV, getting free BBC and ITV HD plus iPlayer for a small one off cost of the kit is good enough for me...

The FREESAT site lists all the channels on the Freesat service.

They went with SKY so I wouldn't bank on them coming to Freesat

Just a point to know, this box is not an official Freesat box so will receieve all the astra free to view channels but will not get the official Freesat EPG, probably just now and next. And it will not get the iplayer function as that is for endorsed Freesat boxes.

If you just want freesat hd better getting an endorsed box or get a sky hd box without subs.

I have a none freesat box which is Hd and the pic quality is superb but you do not get the EPG which is a pain at times but you do get every free channel that you would get on a sky box even though most of em are crap lol.

I have a sky system with multi room distribution, but only one free to air sky box. I object to paying Sky's subscription charges.
Is the Labgear box a good way to get sat in another room or is there a better option?
Would the Labgear box only pick up channels from the satellite it is pointing at i.e. sky channels, or others as well, e.g. Freesat? (i live in Norfolk)
I was thinking of not installing a second dish but just using the receiver
Thanks,
Graham

This will egt everything that you get on a sky box which is free to air plus all the freesat channels. But you will not get a decent working epg unless you have sky or an endorsed freesat box which gets you the freesat epg.

I think you are better with a freesat box such as the humax hd one which will also get the none freesat channels ie the fta sky ones.

Thanks for the info.
Will the Labgear box - if attached to my sky dish - pick up other satellites as well? (and if so are they worth looking at?)

It will pick up anything fta if pointed at the right sats but I dont think this one will control a motorised dish so you would need to move your dish or use a second dish.

Heat and rep added, good price.

Bush DVB680 Freeview HD Box £99.99 at Argos, more expensive but no dish on the house.
